Deliverance fans?

What would your favorite Deliverance album be?

It would be a toss up between the self-titled (1989) and Weapons of our Warfare. Coming in a close third would be Stay of Execution.

Stay of Execution. I love the vocals and the music has some really great melodies.

The debut, followed by Weapons then Stay. I don't like the other albums they put out.

"Weapons" by far.

Stay of Execution. Great songwriting, much more interesting lyrics (No doubt this was due, in part, to Terry Taylor's input), and a step up in production quality. I love the first three albums, but I found Stay to be a much more interesting listen. It still has the heavy, chugging guitars, but in the context of more adventurous and sophisticated songwriting.

I love the first two best. But I'm actually a big fan of Learn and River Disturbance as well. Those two were my introduction to them after completely ignoring them before that. Yeah that was a mistake.

Weapons was the first one I heard, but I think I might dig the s/t a little bit better. Both are pretty even to me though.

Gotta go with the debut, nostalgia plays a major part of course but aside from that it's simply a kick ass record!

it is hard to separate out the nostalgia factor. I would have gone with Weapons for nostalgia but i think Stay is a bit more interesting to me.

Stay barely over Weapons. Nostalgia or not, they kick butt.

I'd be one to think like Scott on this matter

the first two, probably weapons more, and after that, assimilation.

Weapons just edges out the S/T, then Stay, then River Disturbance further back.

I like them all as well, but my least favorite would be Assimilation.

I think i have heard one or two Deliverance songs..... Am i missing out on something extraordinary?

I only own the first two albums but I absolutely love both of them! I still prefer the first one, though.

Weapons of our Warfare and Stay of Execution are the only 2 I currently own. I had a couple of others, but ditched them some time ago.

Weapons...probably gets more spins, but I like SoE just as well.

Melodic Thrash Metal...like a blend of Metallica, Queensryche and Forbidden...nothing earth-shattering but good at what they did.

I only have Stay Of Execution and Learn,the only ones I've been able to find. The way erevyone is talking about the first2,seemsI'm really missing out. I'll have to find them one of these days.
