| My wife and kids were out of town for a few days, so I took the opportunity to have an adult beverage or 12.......a sixer of Sam Adams Cream Stout and another of Newcastle Brown Ale.
And now, since my wife and I are very rarely apart, it will be another year before I get to do it again.

I'm self-employed and alcohol dependency is strong in my genes so it's rare for me since we don't keep beer in the house (also it tends to be a trigger for me atrial fibrillation woes). But when I do, anything New Belgium is my choice. Anyway, it used to be all about Newcastle, a sixer a day. And you can't go wrong with Sam Adams anything.

Sam Adams has recently tried to "branch out" and prove they're still a microbrewery by producing these bombers of weird concoctions. I made the mistake of buying some smoked double bock of their's (I wish I could remember the name) and I swear it was like drinking smoked meat. Just awful; I couldn't even finish one glass and poured the rest of the bottle down the drain. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Try their Black Lager. It's great. (But it's no Belgian. ) _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

(But it's no Belgian. ) Their summer ale is good too. I picked up some of this: the one thing i need to get is a Schlaflys mug or glass though. _________________

Can you get them up there? If not, I can get you one; they're plentiful here. I have two Schlafly glasses _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I'll check my local grocery store next time; if they still have them, I'll let you know how much they are. I think they were like $3 when I bought mine. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I think I may be a Sam Adams superfan, but I just realized something: I hate their original lager. Took me a while to realize this because I haven't had one in over five years. It's the dullest and most lifeless brew I've had outside of cheap domestics. Other than that, the smoky and the cream stout are great stuff.
Sam Smith is another Sammy I admire and take pleasure in.

Sam Smith is another Sammy I admire and take pleasure in. i still think Yuengling is the best mass produced lager in the normal consumers pricepoint. _________________

Sam Smith is another Sammy I admire and take pleasure in. I've liked every Samuel Smith brew I've had except their Russian Imperial Stout. I thought that thing tasted like turpentine; total drainpour. But other than that, Sam Smith rules. Oh, and about the Sam Adams Boston Lager, I think it's OK and since they insist on sticking several in every seasonal variety pack they produce, I've gotten used to it. But it DOES taste a lot better on tap. When I lived in CT, the Chili's Restaurant near me had Sam Adams Lager on tap and that stuff was great. Of course that was 20 years ago and my tastes have evolved immensely since then so who knows if I'd still feel the same way. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Yeah, I was surprised how much I enjoyed the summer ale. I actually liked that Blueberry Lager too which surprised me even more because I usually hate "fruity beers". _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Same here. The Blueberry flavor doesnt overwhelm you when you drink it. It just has the right amount of flavor.

I normally stay away from SA but i had some Summer ale at a work event and was actually pretty impressed. It is flavorful but light. _________________
