Went to a Specs today to get some Maudites. Turns out they had individual bottles of Unibroue, so I got one of each (Maudite, Trois Pistoles, and La Fin Du Monde). Then I made a shocking discovery. There were Belgians galore, a virtual Belgian paradise (you'd be in heaven Toho). There were at LEAST 50 different Belgians and I found one Toho had suggested to me:



It is delicious and I plan on going through the whole bottle tonight (already more than half-way through-since I won't be going on the road for at least another day, what the hell).

Yeah, it's 11% ABV so it can easily sneak up on you if you're not careful.

New Belgium has releases in almost every style known. I find them to be quite good at the beer styles I like.

You're absolutely right. They excel in everything, especially IPAs and darks, but I just recently tried their Pilsener and was no less than satisfied. High praise for NB.

Check out some of their Lips Of Faith series some time. They're 22oz bottles, not sixers and they've got quite a few good beers there as well.

Checked at the store, they didn't have it, neither does the local bevmo  . Sounds delicious.

Looks like there's one location near me that has it, a steakhouse in a seedy area. If you guys don't hear from me by the morning, it's been fun  .

That's interesting, the place where I find the Lips Of Faith series isn't on their beer finder map.

I just noticed some of you guys were posting about Thelonious Monk in some of the other threads.  Ever tried this beer:

I also read today that High On Fire has their own brew coming out called "Razorhoof". I feel kind of strange about that because Matt Pike (guitar/vocals) just went to rehab last year for alcohol abuse. The promotional picture features the other two band members so hopefully Matt will stay away from the Razorhoof.

That Razorhoof is apparently a Saison Ale; not one of my favorite styles but not one I hate either (*cough* IPAs*cough*).  I'll pick it up if I find it.

And if North Coast Brewery makes a donation to the Thelonious Monk Institute for every bottle sold, I've probably already sponsored 2 or 3 graduates by myself.

I think the Pumpkick sucks and like last year I think the Schlafly's is lame.

I actually think the best Pumpkin beer I've had this year is O'Fallon's Pumpkin Beer but I'm pretty sure it's not available in The Kingdom.

i like both of my purchases. i will see if i can find the O'Fallon though.

So I haven't had a good bear in ages and locked in this massive deal at work and felt like congratulating myself with a box of New Belgium assorted. What sucks is the day after the purchase I got a cold, and now I can't taste shit. But I at least had their Paddle Creek or whatever it's called before the cold took over. Yum.

New Belgium puts out some good beers.  Which variety pack did you buy?
