Almost like a stout, but not as bitter or strong (making it good for me). I like that one too! _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I dropped a small fortune at my beer store today (Hey! I hadn't been there in a month!). Picked up lots of weird beers that I've never heard of before including one brewed with habanero peppers and mango! Right now I'm drinking something called a "sticke alt" beer and it's hard to describe. It's like an old ale (which is a style I love) but it finishes with a grapefruit-like hoppy finish. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Almost like a stout, but not as bitter or strong (making it good for me). I like that one too! The cool thing is, this one is in just about every grocery store I frequent, meaning I don't have to run down to a liquor store to get beer (though I will still have the Unibroue's from time to time).

| You're pretty safe with any New Belgium beer as long as you know what styles you like. As widely available beers go they've surpassed Sam Adams in my book. They have a specialty series called "Lips Of Faith" that comes in 22oz bottles that I pick up at my beer store. In fact, today I picked up a Lips Of Faith called "Cascara Quad". It's a Belgian Quad (meaning high ABV) brewed with dates, coffee and cherries. Sounds weird but I had to try it. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Well there is one New Belgium that I can write off: GACKK!! The first thing that hits me from the first taste is SOUR. Not a sweet/sour taste, but a bitter/sour taste. It is followed by a decent, slightly sweet aftertaste but not enough to cover the lemon juice and asprin sourness. When it comes to New Belgium, I'll stick with Abbey, 1554, and Fat Tire. All three fine beers. | |

| Yeah I was going to try that one until I read the description on the label. I don't like Belgian Sours at all. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| More a cider than a beer but better than any cider I ever had. Every hard cider I've had was way too sour. This is much sweeter which is how I origionally thought a cider tasted like. Still, not something I would have often but it was worth the try. | |

| I was wondering how that Redd's was. I'm going with an old seasonal standby tonight. Stone Russian Imperial Stout. This is the best stout out there for the money (5.99 for a 22oz bomber). I just wish they brewed this year round. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Along with some Maudite, I decided to try this: Nowhere near as good as Samuel Smith's OS but I managed to finish it. Maybe a bit too bitter for my taste but I probably won't waste this one. Maybe grow to like it before it's gone. We'll see. Also I saw this at the liquor store and laughed my ass off. I will make up an advertisement for it here: Do you like stouts? Are you troo? Then have we got the beer for you:Obviously I didn't get it, not being a stout guy. But thought people here'd get a kick out of it. | |

| And I doubt you're going to find an oatmeal stout that tops Samuel Smith's. For my money that's the best one out there. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Picked up a half and half of 1554 and Fat Tire today. My Unibroue's are running low and I don't feel like that oatmeal stout. BTW Toho, I figured it wouldn't match Samuel Smith, but it is cheaper (though a lot of good that does considering I wasn't too wild about it) . | |

| The beer for my last two nights (started yesterday, finishing it tonight) before I start driving. Then I will have about 3-4 weeks before I'm allowed to have another one: | |

I found it to be a stronger version of Trois Pistoles. And not that I care what critics say vs. what I like, but Beer Advocate rates this one pretty high: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22/3635

Agreed. One of my favorites and one of the richest I've enjoyed. Also, that New Belgium 1554? The only beer I can seem to guzzle like water. I went through three bottles in five minutes one time. Just delicious.

I'm always leery about anything labeled "Summer" because in my experience that means "fruit flavors added". _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Just picked up a case of this year's version of Southern Tier's Crème Brulee Imperial Stout. This is the very definition of "dessert beer". _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Well, on this night I am home (maybe for more than a day, maybe just 12 hours or so). At my mom's I have (had) a delicious Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout. If I don't have to be back on the road til Sunday, I may have a Maudite (or two) Saturday night. | |
