If they're smart, they'll milk this for all it's worth. Check me if I'm wrong, but Van Halen has never released anything with DLR in a live setting, correct? Tons of boots out there, but nothing official. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I'm going to see them tomorrow night in Indy! Can't wait! Love the setlist but I was really hoping that they would've added Me Wise Magic to it. Maybe they will change it up later on.

Me Wise Magic is a cool song. Great song but DLR will not be able to hit those high notes live!

Me Wise Magic is a cool song. I've always thought the 2 songs Dave did on Best Of Vol. 1 sucked...

I swear the one track is just Sam reading the contents of his breakfast table. I prefer "It's About Time" and "Up For Breakfast" over those two DLR songs. BTW - the album debuted at #2 on Billboard with 188k copies sold in the first week. Still no #1 album with Roth. At least Hagar can still always make that claim (even though he already ludicrously states that Van Hagar has outsold the DLR albums).

| The "Hagar era" didn't do nearly as well as the Roth era.
Here are the figures: VH1 10 mil VHII 5 mil WACF 3 mil FW 2 mil DD 4 mil 1984 10 mil
5150 6 mil 0U812 4 mil F.U.C.K. 3 mil LRHRN 2 mil BALANCE 3 mil
ROTH 34 MILLION hagar 18 million.
The Roth era also contained their only #1 single - Jump.

| I know, it's insane. Even the media will report that Van Hagar was more successful. I guess if you're judging by who was more mainstream, sure, but they still didn't sell better. Hagar flat out says in his book that his VH albums sold more than Roth's. I think he's been spending too much time listening to "Amsterdam" over and over again. | |

Being an aspiring drummer in so. calif during the late 70's, you couldn't help but have eye on what one of the BEST ever was doing. I would love to play that kit in the photo _________________

| That Sound Edge sounds really nice on the new VH album!
I used to have Paistes on the kit I had before. A 505 ride and a cut down 2002(bought for $5) that I turned upside down put another upside down, smaller and cracked, cymbal in it and used it as a trashy china.

Those Paiste's you got from me were middle of the road but I thought they sounded okay for what they were. Do ya use them ? _________________

Ya know, I've discovered if a cymbal sounds good to your own ear it doesn't really matter what brand it is. I also used to have a Sabian B8 china splash that had this incredible sound that no other had. I always get strange looks whenever I've mentioned that to other drummers, but it just had a sound that I was looking for.

Me Wise Magic is a cool song. I've always thought the 2 songs Dave did on Best Of Vol. 1 sucked... Me Wise Magic is a killer song and one of the bright spots of 96. I wore that song out. Proof that Dave and Ed were at their best together. |

| The Van Halen's are out on the stage doing a soundcheck sans Dave right now. Maybe they supplement the bg vox during the show, but I can see Wolfgang and Eddie doing them live now and they sound fine.
So far, they've gone through 'Unchained', 'Running with the Devil' and 'She's the Woman'. Sounds kinda weird without Dave's lead. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was.
