Go to RockBox Torrents, you should be able to download the series easily because they are well-seeded, no need to wait for the TV broadcast

| I'm still playing catch-up with the series, but the ones I've seen have been pretty enjoyable. It keeps me entertained for 45 minutes. I like seeing some of the old footage and photos. Anyone else find it amusing to see footage of Biff singing 'Denim & Leather' wearing silver spandex pants and bright red t-shirt? _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I am not fan of nu metal outside of handful bands, actually I am not sure if bands like K orn, Slipknot or Killswitch Engage are considered Nu Metal or not.
I am surprised there is not one show dedicated to extreme death/black metal genre

| About to watch Thrash... I'm watching as the episodes are getting posted on VH1 Classic's Facebook page. Good series but the problem is they simply can't devote enough time to any of these scenes. There's so much to be said, so many bands to cover... They could expand each episode into an entire season. Anybody know what else Dunn is working on? I imagine he's not going to keep making rock/metal documentaries for the rest of his life. - manny wrote:

Isn't Dunn a big fan of extreme metal? Maybe VH1 didn't want that stuff on their network though, which is understandable. There's not a lot they could discuss about it or show without offending some viewers. The only other type of metal I see is missing is the doom/sludge/stoner stuff. But again, I can understand there being no interest in doing an episode on that. All the other stuff being shown were/are bigger scenes.

I am surprised there is not one show dedicated to extreme death/black metal genre I know K orn is, I don't think KSE or Slipknot fall into Nu-Metal. As for extreme/black metal, he did already kinda do that mini-doc on black metal.

As for extreme/black metal, he did already kinda do that mini-doc on black metal. Yes on the bonus disc on Headbanger's Journey, I am sure he may done one for VH1 but Gorguts and Mayhem is not exactly mainstream Eddie Trunk type of metal VH1 caters to and maybe he did one and will included in the DVD release, if this ever gets released on DVd/Blu Ray

| "Headbanger's Journey" still gets played on VH1 Classic pretty regularly so anyone with a jones for the black metal church burners can get their fix from their portion of that movie.
I remember when my wife and I first watched that flick on VH1C a couple of years ago, she was visibly disturbed by the segment featuring Gaahl from Gorgoroth. (Dunn: "What does black metal mean to you?" Gaahl: (pause) "Satan.") Haha. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

(Dunn: "What does black metal mean to you?" Gaahl: (pause) "Satan.") Haha. More disturbing developments regarding Gaahl of Gorgoroth: In July 2008, Gaahl revealed in an online interview that he was involved in the creation of Wynjo, an upcoming fashion collection for women, together with Norwegian modeling agent Dan De Vero and designer Sonja Wu.[10][11] At the same time, it was also revealed that he and De Vero had a "close relationship" since 2006.[10][11] It was stated that they were no longer a couple but remained as good friends. In an interview for the November 2008 issue of Rock Hard, Gaahl confirmed his homosexuality.[12] Shortly thereafter, De Vero stated that he had received threats from various black metal fans, both at his door and by phone and email.[13] It was also alleged that a fight had erupted backstage at Wacken Open Air, triggered by homophobic remarks. Allegedly, the person who made the remarks had to be hospitalised.[12] However, Gaahl denied that anyone had ever "said anything derogatory" to him in person.[12] When asked by the webzine FaceCulture if he thinks people will see him and his music differently now that he has publicly acknowledged his homosexuality, Gaahl replied:

I am surprised there is not one show dedicated to extreme death/black metal genre There was likely some kind of negotiation between the film producers and VH1 Classic and death metal and black metal were casualties of that. Unfortunate. I don't care for nu metal but I'm looking forward to the episode focusing on it. The glam episode was refreshing to me, probably because it's not going over stuff I already know so well and maybe nu metal will be similar. I think Dunn said he was also most surprised by the nu metal episode because it forced him to move a bit beyond his comfort zone and really grapple with this stuff instead of just dismissing it as a fan.

Yeah, some of it looked like an act - from the way he dressed, to the blood red wine, to his dramatic pause with sip of wine between "what does black metal mean to you" and his answer. Granted, the guy probably hates anything to do with God, but a lot of that seemed to be all for the performance, with him acting like he was high priest of as worldwide satanic cult.

| Just watched the grunge episode. I like that they gave the Fastbacks some face time. I also like that Jack Endino got to set the record straight about "grunge" dying when Cobain killed himself. One of those strange re-writings of history. At the time of his suicide Nirvana was in shambles and In Utero was a huge disappointment in sales. Most people I knew who had jumped onto the grunge bandwagon had moved on to Stone Temple Pilots and Smashing Pumpkins by then.
No idea what Nickelback or Creed had to do with anything. At first I thought my DVR had over-lapped into another show.
I'm surprised the fashion industry hasn't done the black metal thing. It's actually a smart career move for Gaahl. I could actually see that catching on. And it's certainly no worse than some of the fashions they've presented. I always wonder if anyone actually ever buys or wears that stuff.
