Well, I was referring to "Sap" and "Jar of Flies". Not usually into unplugged versions of electric songs.
My mistake and those are excellent releases also.

| King's X!!!!! One of my fav bands since OOTSP was released. They are just an awesome, awesome band who should have been huge. Unfortunately, they got labeled as a "Christian" act and I think that really hurt their popularity. They should have been much more popular than they are - not Maiden or Metallica big, but big - maybe Megadeth/Slayer big (as far as record sales/concert attendance)
I also like AiC - they have some GREAT music. They new disc is good, but it is missing Layne. I am a fan, but not as big as I am of King's X.
As far as my personal beliefs, that has NOTHING to do with my personal feelings on a band. In fact, never heard of Ultimatum until I joined this board. This isn't the "Utl fan club" and anyone who says that hasn't read the posts - we all have different tastes in music and I have yet to see someone say one band is better than another because they are christian. Agree with Manny's earlier post - ToB is really tellin' it like it ain't.

| King's X slightly over AiC, even though I enjoy the darker aspects and vocal harmonies of AiC and that they were a part of my teenage years. King's X only because they're a unique band that stuck to their guns.

| I've never been able to get into Alice In Chains. I have a few King's X cds laying around, but I don't really listen to them much. But when forced to choose, I'd go with King's X. | |

| I think Kings X is boring and overrated (other than the Gretchen album). I much prefer Alice to Kings X. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I choose King's X, the vocals are better, Ty has one of the greatest guitar tones ever, Doug is a monster of a bassist. AIC is good, too. Jerry Cantrell is a fine guitarist, but the loss of Layne has crippled the band, the new material is just not as good as the old. | |

| Actually the Braveboard post is pretty close as well and is only slightly tilted towards AiC. I'm actually surprised that AiC didn't take the lead here as well. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

And? Doesn't prove anything I think it proves one thing. This board has a decidedly favorable opinion of Kings X vs. the opinions on another board. Oh wait, you're right, that doesn't prove anything. Who cares? I still don't like Kings X. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| The results show that this board isn't a good sample of the metal community at large when I post it on another board and get very different results.
to date: HOM board: Kings X wins by 33% BW board: AiC wins by 55%
That's a sizable difference, albeit one with a low sample size.

Actually, it's not even close to being scientific and the results are flawed

| Actually, I just checked the Braveboard it's pretty close considering AiC is far more popular than King's X. (10 votes to 14 for AiC there, here it's 9 to 13 for King's X)
Who wins has nothing to do with which board is a good sample of the metal community. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

Uh yeah. My point all along. People like them more. And people on metal boards are more likely to have really heard both bands unlike the MTV crowd, for example. - Quote :

Yes it does. This is more of a Christian-friendly board. A whole lot more posts on here about Vengeance Rising (for example) than any other secular metal board I have posted on. It isn't surprising that a Christian artist would poll much better here than on another metal board with far more members.

I thinke ToB has a valid point with that last sentence. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I really like the first 4 King's X albums and some of the later 90s stuff but nothing grabs me like the first two AIC albums. Facelift and especially Dirt are some of my favorite albums of all time. The last one was actually good and was the closest they ever came to those two classic albums (maybe even closer if Lane was still with us). | |
