I had their second CD, but gave it to my good friend Olaf who wanted it more than I. If I ever stumble across them, I'll add them.

80's Christian pop rock. Not bad, but never a favorite of mine. I had one of their albums on tape. It's been a long while since.

Yes. Need to get some. Wouldn't mind having "Malleus Maleficarum". I'm not really much into death metal anymore, but this one was more thrash from what I remember.

Progressive rock? They have killer cover art. Rodney Matthews. I'm surprised myself I haven't check out their stuff.

Blech! Pass. I've owned several of their CDs and have traded them off. Just not my thing.

Yah, the first disc you mentioned there is more thrash than death metal.

You might also like their album Spheres. It's kinda like Cynic, where they fuse a lot of different styles with a death metal base.

You can defnitely see the similarites with Mastedon / John Elefante in both albums. John Elefante wrote most of the songs on the Heaven Calling release.

Their "Hard Hitter" release has some great Guitar work with Lanny Cordola doing some guest work.

If you like Cynic, The "Spheres" release is right up your alley. There is a lot of experimentation with Synth guitars. They go as far as putting a disclaimer on the album that no synthesers were used on the album.

I would label them somewhere between progressive / AOR. I have their "Wings of Heaven" release and is one of my favorite albums of all time.

They put out one release called "Dance The Marble Naked" in 1994. I would label them a Doom / Death Metal band. The music is similar to early Paridise Lost with Doom / Death vocals.

I don't think your gonna like the lyrics though as they would be what you would call insipid. A cross between sci-fi and satanic. I only like them because the music rules and the lead guitar is exellent.

Had them, couldn't stand the lyrics. Was not a great fan of music either. And believe me, because of the Savatage link, I tried!

That was me that mentioned Mercyful Fate. Not very much differnet with the music but the lyrics on the older albums are very Satanic and your not really into that but the most recent stuff is just basically horror without much Satan.

Metal-Metropolis has a Bon Jovi page. I doubt you'll ever see a Bon Jovi page on NLTM. I just don't care for him at all. Maybe it's my New Jersey upbringing or something, but the guy grates on me.

ULTMETAL, the first two BON JOVI albums are great. Just pure melodic hard rock/metal. Forget about NEW JERSEY but even their thirt album is okay only with more hits on it. My fave BON JOVI album will be always 7800 FAHRENHEIT.
