I heard somwhere that on this tour they were going to play one song from every album, I tought it was a pretty cool idea shame it didn't happen. It could have been:

I think the current setlist is pretty good, but not great. They could have chosen stronger songs from the last 3 albums.

I was just listening to some of the folks on Youtube who were attempting covers of El Dorado and i reached the conclusion that the song would have worked better as an instrumental. The main riff/lick and solo are really good; but the vocal melody and Bruce's delivery are worryingly moribund. He sounds bored, flat and dare i say - a bit tuneless.

I'm not overly concerned about the album, though. I remember really disliking 'Wildest Dreams' when it was released as a single prior to DOD, but i went on to love that album.

Wildest Dreams is a much better song than El Dorado in my opinion.

Caught them Thursday night when they came through here (in Phoenix). Dream Theater played an awesome set. They stuck with a more straight-ahead metal set which I thought was a good move.

Maiden killed. Since it was my first time seeing them, I would have liked to hear more classics; however, I thought the setlist they put together kept the energy level high. I'm now going back to the newer albums and giving them another listen because their live renditions really gave the songs a new sense of energy.

Overall, I was very glad that I went. Can't wait for their next stop here in Phoenix.

The show was AWESOME!!!! It was GREAT to hear lots of "new" stuff. The place was packed to the rafters - they said it was over 25,000. It had to be more than that. Rod Smallwood came out just as Maiden was about to go on and announced the band would be starting 30 minutes later than usual because there were still 4 or 5 thousands fan waiting to get in and they wanted to make sure everyone got in to see the show. Dream Theater was awesome too - I really enjoyed their set even though it was short. Band was tight!!!! I had seats for this one (have PIT for others) and the seats where right in front of the soundboard, so the sound was perfect - you could clearly hear all three guitars, Steve's bass, Bruce and Nicko.

The lighting was amazing and new Eddie looked awesome!!!

New Iron Maiden video to debut on youtube on 7/13/10 at 3pm. Remember the days when we used to wait for an Iron Maiden video to "world premiere" on MTV? I still remember when Wasted Years had it's "world premiere" on MTV. Anyway, the posted a "teaser" for the video - looks pretty frakin bad a$$!!!!!! Clip from the song sounds pretty awesome too!!!!

Anyone know if they are going to return after the new cd is out...I missed them in So Cal....

wow, looks like Maiden forked over a ton of money for this video. Looks good, but the music is not impressive at all.

That new El Dorado song was horrible. I hope this album is better than that!

The new song sounds a bit like El Dorado from that clip. Very boring and uninspired.

let me get this straight...we're judging a song from about a 20 second snippet of music, with sound effects on top of it...and it's obviously the end of the song. Is that about right?
