| A New Hope (anyone ever notice the fat bearded X-Wing pilot was named Porkins) The Empire Stikes Back Return Of The Jedi (I don't mind the extra scenes [even though most made no sense] and replacing the corny Ewok celebration at the end but I was bothered by the pointless CGI song & dance scene in Jabba's Palace-the origional marionette controlled scene was a part of the movie I grew up with and it annoyed me that they decided to "improve" it) | |

| Green Lantern: First Flight and Superman/Batman: Public Enemies: Two really good direct-to-video DC Comics animated movies. A lot better than I expected.
Fred Claus - Surprisingly good. I don't care for Giammatti or Vaughn, but this was a nice Christmas comedy.
I also had a Gremlins 1 & 2 marathon earlier this month. I forgot how good those movies are.

| My two sons (16 & 12) and I recently had a guys' night and saw Avatar in 3D at the theater. As others have said, it is an excellent movie. Visually stunning. I was afraid the CG would be too much, but it is very well done and not distracting. The plot is strong, though some of the storyline is borrowed from "Dances With Wolves." Excellent movie, though. A definite must for any sci-fi/fantasy fan! Five stars! | |

| Saw "Avatar" with my dad yesterday. It was good, but it was predictable.
Watched "District 9" this morning. OMG. It was rough to watch, but it was AMAZING.

| Wow, I thought "District 9" sucked pretty bad. Very lame. "Avatar" is 100X the movie that one is. Different strokes, different folks and all that though ... | |

I didn't care for the new song, it just didn't fit the mood. They even removed the "mouth" from the original marionette character when they did the CG version of her. I wonder if they didn't like that mouth since she had lips on her nose, or if it was an oversight.

| For my New Year's Celebration I watched the entire Special Edition of The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy. It's official, this is my favortite trilogy (and movies) of all time. I was unsure of which trology I liked best untl now. Now that I watched it and Star Wars (the prequal trilogy was never in the running) one day after the other my mind has been made up. Star Wars will always have a place in my heart but LotR has taken first place. Right now I'm watching MST3K: Merlin's Mystical Shop Of Wonders. | |

| I like the Lord of the Rings trilogy better than Star Wars too. But when it comes to trilogys, my favorite is the Bourne Identity trilogy. | |

Really? Wow. It was one of my favorite movies of 2009! Yeah, it seems people were divided on it. Personally, I don't go for the 'pseudo documentary' types. I find them a bit trite. If it had been done in a 'non-documentary' way, I probably would have loved it. Just me I guess.
