| You didn't like Systematic Chaos? There was some great hidden parts on that album and man did Mike Portnoy do an amazing job once again. | |

Never said I didn't like it. I thought it was a good album, but it was a little weak compared to the rest of the catalog. 'Constant Motion" was a good song off that album.

| Constant Motion is an awesome song indeed. I wouldn't hold it up there either with the best DT albums.
Images and Words Falling Into Infinity Train of Thought Awake Six Degrees Scenes from a Memory Systematic Chaos Octavarium
thats the order I like the albums I own. I think Octavarium is an awesome album so it shows I think they are a pretty special band.

| My order is: Awake (tied with) Images & Words Scenes From A Memory A Change Of Seasons Falling Into Infinity Train Of Thought Octivarium Systematic Chaos Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence As you can see, my love for Dream Theater has waned over the years. Scenes was the last great DT album IMO and nothing since has come close to it's caliber. That being said, I have yet to hear a bad DT album. | |

| Might as well:
1a. Images and Words (Greatest Prog Metal album not made by Rush.)
1b. Awake (Great follow up to I&W.)
3. Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (Second disc is a little dodgy, but the first disc is brilliant.)
4. Metropolis Part. 2 (Great story telling and musicianship.)
5. A Change of Seasons (Love the medleys.)
6. Train of Thought (Heavy as hell.)
7. Octavarium (Little too self-indulgent.)
8. Systematic Chaos (Weaker than the others, but still a good album.)
9. Falling Into Infinity (Often thought they should get an outside producer. This disc shows why they shouldn't)

"Images and Words" is still my favorite, and one of my favorite metal albums ever. Good record but loaded with keyboard honks everywhere.

Good record but loaded with keyboard honks everywhere. Without keyboards it wouldn't be Dream Theater though.

Those are going to be some long songs. I like the cover art!!!! For some reason, makes me think of the early albums. So, are they covering Styx on this album?

| I can't wait for this one. I'll probabaly pick up the 3CD deluxe edition.
So it's safe to say that "The Shattered Fortress" is the last installment of the AA suite??
