I am really glad Creed has gotten back together. It makes them easier to bomb that way.

Bullets is one of their better songs, for sure, although I like them all.

True, they do have some good songs that are totally metal - you can tell Mark Trambonehead was influenced by Metallica when you listen to the non-radio songs

New song Overcome is out. Great tune and I love it. Again Mark Tremonti amazes me on the guitar. reminds me a bit of a Sevendust chorus...

I liked it until he started singing. Still, that guitar riff at the beginning gives me a slight inkling that Creed has potential to be awesome, but until then, I'll pass. I'll listen to 3 Doors Down for the same thing done better.

I like Stapps vocals not nearly as much as Myles from Alter Bridges though. i like 3 Doors Down but they arent on par with these boys when it comes to the riffs and the talent on there instruments. Mark is the best hard rock guitar player out there right now IMO...

Heard the new Creed single on the radio. Meh.
On the flip side, Faith No More seems to be limiting their reunion tour to the European circuit and ignoring the U.S. entirely...further proof that we live in a cruel universe.

Faith No More were a fun band but they need to write some new stuff and we'll see if they are still relevant outside this reunion.

I saw a clip of FNM playing live at the Download Festival in England on VH1 Classic one night last week and they were ON FIRE! I'd be interested if they decided to put out new stuff after this run of dates.
I'm curious why they're seemingly avoiding the U.S. during this tour and stickin' to Europe. By all accounts they're going down great guns over there, it'd probably be the same here.

They will always be relevant (at least to me). Their influence is still seen in plenty of bands today. I'm also bummed that they're just playing in Europe right now. Some of my best concert memories are of them.

Even in Creed, Tremonti's riffing was/is awesome...I just really dislike Scott Stapp as a singer...a lot. IMO, he's one of the luckiest guys on the planet...

OK, I am being forced to eat a bit of crow here...
I just heard CREED's new song "Overcome" and...wow...what a great song! I'm surprised like crazy...I even like how Stapp sings it...good chorus, great solo from Tremonti (don't think CREED ever really had solos before)...all around great Hard Rock song...
Color me impressed...

Tremonti is CREED!!! Tremonti might be best known for his guitar skills, but what people tend to forget is that the man is one of the best songwriters out there in the hard rock world. Thats what separates him from the pack. Im glad he is able to come forward with his playing on this new record. Its going to be pretty heavy compared to previous Creed albums I think.
Tremonti has some incredible solos in Creed. Check out solos in Pity For A Dime, Inside Us All, You Stand Here With Me, and Illusion are some that come right to my mind.
Shawn did you think the chorus was very Sevendust sounding? It reminded me of a song from them I just cant put 2 and 2 together.

I've never heard a lot of SEVENDUST...not enough to know specific songs...so I couldn't tell you...all I know is I like this new CREED song quite a bit...makes me want to *gulp* listen to the older albums to see if my tastes have changed any...
I've spent so much time disliking CREED based on Stapp that I haven't listened to them intentionally for years...I may have to change that...check out the albums again and see how they hit me...his voice isn't as bad as I remember it...
Sheesh...next thing you know I'll start liking HAMMERFALL...

I think songs like these really push Stapps vocals to where its more forced giving him a rougher sound that I like. At 2:43-2:53 Tremonti does more in those 10 seconds then most guitar players can do in there career. Brilliant and pure goosebumps...
Sheesh...next thing you know I'll start liking HAMMERFALL...
Stapp has never bothered me. His vocals really never were that bad to me because they had such great melodies. There are some songs where he pushes himself and with Tremontus melodic style makes a perfect match.

I think I reacted more towards my preceived notions of Scott Stapp then I did his actual talent, I have the first two Creed albums and they are not bad at all. But stay as far away as possible from his solo album.
