| Well Creed is one of the most successful bands out in the late 90's and early 00's. They seem to be either loved by millions or hated by millions. Me personally love them. I remember the first time hearing My Own Prison and i was immediately blown away at the melodic yet powerful sound of that song. As most know there was a problem with the singer having alcohol problems and having personal troubles within the band. Creed eventually broke up and Scott Stapp made a solo cd and the other 3 original members went on to form Alter Bridge.
What do you guys think of Creed?

| I 've always liked them well enough. A funny story about how I came to own Weathered. Quite some years ago now I had Bride's latest on my Christmas list, but my wife was out and about and couldn't remember Bride. She came across Creed and maybe the combination of a sort-of similar word and Creed's name recognition made her say "Ah! That's the one Scott wants" so when I unwrapped it Christmas morning I was a bit surprised. However, that CD was a heavy spinner for quite some time. The ironic thing is that I still DON'T have the Bride cd that was out around then - and by most accounts have no interest, either. | |

| I played My Own Prison alot when it came out and I was drinking heavily. Too bad Tremonti had to play behind Scott Stapp's horrible moaning. But not a horrible band by any stretch. Just not for me. |

yea u could see his potential on that cd his playing was ridiculous. I'm so glad Alter Bridge formed and he can showcase why he is the best guitarist in rock today...

| My wife likes them. Some of the songs are pretty good, but I've always been indifferent to them. Don't hate them, but don't like them either. | |

| From what I heard, they're fairly decent but not something I'd listen to on a regular basis. Then again I liked the first Kutless album too so maybe I'm strange (understatement of the year). | |

| That first Kutless was Creed with a better singer. My kids have that too. |

| Creed is one of those bands that it became really popular to pile on them unmericifully. I thought they were pretty good. | |

| They have a place i guess and it proved grunge wasn't dead (still isn't). But what ticked me off about this band more than anything was Stapp's shameless ripping of Eddie Vedder's pipes, i'm all for other guys having singing styles similar to others but you've got to add something or improve it. And well Stapp made it worse totally reduced it down to a joke till it made me start to question my liking of the original source. | |

I heard them on the radio in the late 90's and the song caught my attention right away. I agree with you that they were overplayed on the radio especially songs like Higher and With Arms Wide Open. I never really listened to radio so they never seemed to get old to me..

| They should have stopped with one cd I like that but after that they basically got to commercial sounding. I much prefer the Creed from the 70's anyway! Wargod48 NP: Voice - Golden Signs | |

I agree. They rose to fame so fast that sometimes that happens. They get overplayed and now everyone hates 'em. I dont, but I listen to them alot less than I used to. Still, when I do break out their 3 albums, I like 'em. As long as I keep it to about once a year, that works for me, I dont care what anyone else thinks of them. I also like both Alter Bridge albums, but I dont love 'em. I do like Scott's solo album alot, very emotional and revealing to me.

What i find funny is that ppl think they went commercial. Creed did what they do best and that is write great songs with great melodies. They didnt change there sound and try to be played on the radio, the songs just happened to be that good imo..
