Point Of Entry is a C-L-A-S-S-I-C, never have understood why that album has such a mediocre reputation. Turning Circles, Desert Plains, Solar Angels, You Say Yes, Heading Out To The Highway, all classic Priest tracks. Even the slightly goofy tracks Don't Go and Hot Rockin' are alot of fun. |

| Okay, here's how I see it...
Every Priest album from Sad Wings Of Destiny thru Screaming For Vengeance is peerless.
The rest of the catalog is a little more spotty, but there are good tracks on all of the Halford albums (I hate Ripper). |

Not that he's a bad vocalist but enough with the Halford-wannabe impressions. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Along with Defenders of the Faith Turbo is my favorite from Priest. Saw them live on this tour back in 86 the night before the documentary Heavy Metal parking Lot was filmed. | |

| I was just listening to Point of Entry last week in the jeep. Deset Plains, Turning Circles and Heading Out To The Highway are stellar, but there's a whole lot of filler tracks on that album, IMO. I would put it about on a level with Turbo (but remember, I like Turbo). Strongest five albums IMO are: (no order) Painkiller Angel of Retribution Screaming Sad Wings Hellbent for Leather | |

I think the UK release was called Killing Machine, but here in the US, the albums was released as Hellbent for Leather. The cd has a different track order than my old cassette as well.

| Wow!! I am glad to see this post created such a spark of good responses. It seems there are lots of JP fans out there.
I am expecting a couple more JP albums here soon. I think next week my Hellbent For Leather album will be in, and then 2 weeks later I will have Point of Entry and British Steel.
I dont have Demolition, but have heard such bad things about it, I will wait till I can find it used and cheap. After that it is the 70's era. I will be finished after that, but what is great is all these albums I have to look forward to....KEY!
Any suggestions on the 70's would be great although I have noticed a few mentioned in this thread already.

| My favorites from the 70's are Sin After Sin and Stained Class...but I might be in the minority on that one.
Unleashed In The East should be in EVERY rock collection. |

| My Favorites also are "Sin After Sin" and "Stained Class", but if I had to pick a favorite it would be "Stained Class". Though, "Jawbreaker" is a live cut off of the "Sin After Sin" album, so both are must haves. | |

| Unfortunately I dont have a trade list. I pretty much got rid of all I didn't want. I still have a ton of CD's and something like over 900, and dont have time to go back to some anymore with that many. I dont know how Ult can manage to do it!! But I am glad he does I am going to add Sad to my November list, seems like that is getting some good press here! Also someone told me Demolition has lots of swearing, dropping the F Bomb and whatnot, which surprised me. Is that true, just need to know in advance so I dont play it when my kids are around. | |

| Mez, there's a couple songs with swearing, not too much. I like the Ripper albums, I just view them as being different as classic Priest and find them to be enjoyable. |

Agreed - it's a good start to 70's priest - a good mix of songs off those albums

| IMO you can't go wrong with any 70's Judas Priest expect for maybe "Rocka Rolla' which isn't bad but the Priest are still in their formative stages. If pressed I would suggest Sad Wings of Destiny or the live classic Unleased in the East. | |
