| Yeah I probably just lost lots of metalers respect since I love Judas Priests album Turbo, which I have read more opinions about hating this album or feeling it is their worst. I dont have all of JP's albums and am working on getting them all, I just got this one 2 weeks ago. I am trying to finish up the 80's era and was not expecting much with this album but I got to say although it does pull away from the tradiointal sound I love, it is still very much JP and I think it is an amazing album.
I seen these guys live this summer and this is what sparked me to just go ahead and get all the stuff they have made. So far not one album is bad. I now have to work on the 70's stuff next which I will expect lesser quality production sound and more 70's sound, but am sure it will also be heavy and good! | |

| You have gained my respect, Turbo is not my favorite Judas Priest CD but it has alot of good songs and it is nice musicial time capsule that captures that era almost perfectly. | |

| I'm more tin or aluminum so I love Turbo. Except for "Keep Your Hands Off *clap*clap*clap*Priv-ate Property, Hands Off! Oh Oh" That's a bit too light in the pants even for me. |

OMG! Two of my very favorites. As for Turbo, I hated it when it originally came out...but I re-listened to it when the remasters came out and realized that my initial knee-jerk reaction was uncalled for. It's not a great Priest album, but there's definitely some good songs on it and it doesn't deserve the flak thrown it's way. |

| I think being a 15 year old when this came out didn't allow me to equate how different this album was compared to that of "Defenders of the Faith". The fact that I was also into some top 40 radio, made this album more listenable. Had the year been 1988, when I was much more into thrash, I might have had a whole different look on this album.
The reason I appreciate this album now is that it is a total nostalgia trip. I had two friends that were huge Priest fans, while a buddy and me were huge Kiss fans. I actually loved both Priest and Kiss, but my two Priest fans hated Kiss with a passion (totally dismissing them as irrelevant). So, we used to have these Priest/Kiss arguments all of the time (good natured arguments). I don't know that any of us ever made any headway in our arguments, but I probably gave in once "Crazy Nights" came out.
If you asked me how many of these songs I would want to hear live, there probably wouldn't be many. Though I absolutely love "Out In The Cold"...That's a classic!

| I have a love/hate relationship with the TURBO album. The tour for that album was my first-ever concert so in that regard it brings back fond memories. "Turbo Lover" and "Out In The Cold" are great songs that still hold up well. On the other hand, that album also contains some of the worst stuff in the Priest catalog, i.e. "Hot For Love," "Reckless" and the aforementioned "Private Property." _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Turbo is decent for 80's Priest, as was Ram It Down. they both have some good moments on them, but far from their best work. nothing compares to 70's Priest though. nothing. _________________ | |

Bingo! I like Turbo well enough (though like everyone else, I think Parental Guidance is really lame. Sounds like Twisted Sister). But for my money, Priest is defined by albums like Sad Wings Of Destiny and Sin After Sin. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Turbo has a couple decent tracks that fundamentally are Priest songs at heart (meaning when they play em live without the synth sound they are pretty cool) but IMO about half the album is just way too poppy (both lyrically and musically, especially the 80's pop drums................to quote Ultmetal....AACK!! ). I saw them on the Turbo tour and their whole demeanor was kinda poppy and Rob was dressed too sparkily and danced around instead of the usual fist-pumpin' metal god that he usually exudes on stage. It is safe to say this was a short lived phase that (fortunately) came and went quickly. IMO it's hard to listen to when youve been a fan of JP since the 70's. (and yes, the 70's Priest rules). British Steel overrated? I dont even have an answer for that........

| I have all of Priest's albums and like them all. I would say Ram It Down is their weakest but I still like it. I freakin' love Point of Entry, to each his own I guess. | |

British Steel is overrated. Time to expand your knowledge of The Priest weedhopper. Pick up Sin After Sin or Sad Wings Of Destiny. Priest was one of the innovators of progmetal IMO. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Good choice with that one too. "Green Manalishi" is one of my alltime favorite Priest songs. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
