Yngwie Malmsteen "Perpetual Flame"

I saw him live w/ Mike Vescera...decent show...tiny stage.

I'll say it again, as much as Ripper tried to save the new album, it is B-O-R-I-N-G!!!

From what Ive heard it sounds like Malmsteen. His solos are still jaw dropping in spots.

My 2 cents, the best singer he had was Jeff Scott Soto followed by Mark Boals, Mike Vescera and Joe Lynn Turner.

I agree with this. I like it, but then it's just Yngwie, nothing out of the ordinary. He even got Ripper to sound like an Yngwie singer. I really like it. I have to listen to it on my car stereo to see if the production sucks. I can't really tell on these crappy computer speakers at work.

BTW, I like Yngwie's voice on Magic City. He should just do all the vocals himself as well.

Yeah Malmsteen is rather predictable but still the past few albums have been pretty good. Live he is a monster and that is always the fun part!

I dig Death Dealer. I'm a huge Ripper fan!

Como é sabido este senhor sabe escolher muito bem os músicos que quer e vocalista e como tal, como fez com Joe Lynn Turner a ir buscar raízes ó seu mestre (na altura ) Ritchie Blackmore dai a elevada influência pós Jimi Hendrix o mago .
Se realmente ele queria fazer um album com traços Priest (voz ) conseguiu-o com a magnifica prestaçâo de Tim "Ripper" Owens e que andamento dá a este super album é de luovar o feeling com que canta este senhor que tá bem melhor depois das experiencias nas bandas em que teve.
As malhas !!!Começo por números visto ser mais prático
1- Começa este fabuloso album com a tal cena dele bem classica e o batarista a entrar com se estivesse a acabar a malha , com os riffs de fundo do senhor ,com Tim a romper a música e a dar um ótimo refrão bem incorporado na malha . a partir dos 3 minutos começa então o virtuosismo a vir ao de cima com um grande solo e claro os fantásticos arpegios que só ele o sabe, bem speedada esta malha com os tempos inpecáveis e bem estruturados e ótimo final com tim a dar um granda berro seguido claro de um bom riff
2-Outra com a padrada toda e Tim a entoar a voz até onde pode fdx (brutal ) e o baterista a ter aqui um ótimo jogo de pezinhos e novamente lá prós 3 minutos o motor guitar a funcionar e fazer aquilo que não consiguo explicar ,granda grito no final ,esta tb figurará nas melhores do album (são todas )
3- Malha bem pesada a começar tempestade e sino com o baixo a sobressair e muito bem, malha bem elaborada sem dúvida ,sensivelmente aos 4 minutos começa a guerra fdx (tou a ouvi-la nem sei o que diga ) linda esta malha
4- Red Devil e é mesmo demoniaca fdx com um ritmo de acordar deuses e novamente a voz de Tim excelente (como em todo o album) puro heavy metal da velha escola bem corrida e com aqueles tais arpegios e solos de um homem se baixar com as mãos ao chão de joelhos fdx
5 - Pá pessoal isto é tudo bom ,uma malha á Rainbow com fantástico empenho do baterista com breaks digno de se dizer Malmstewn a fazer notas altas e baixas com um rapidez e melodia q ue só os grandes o fazem ,bom ritmo sempre a procurar levar este mais além e destaco neste momento (tou a ouvir ) o solo final BELEZA CRLH.
6 -Agora é a vez do senhor Derek aliás em todo o album tá do melhor nas teclas ,solo bem sacado cá bem de baixo e buurrruuuurruu brutal o tim sempre em alta
7-Ora aí está a malha que adoro ouvi-la mesmo á RISING FORCE MUITA BOA FDX ,Refrão, granda solo, bem sentido e a malha sempre a dar esgalho aqui nota-se a bateria deste senhor em todas as secçôes e claro um acabamento de grito ,com esta então apago-me LINDA
8-4 minutos e qualquer coisa do outro mundo (instrumental ) a elevar as partes neo classicas e tecnical até as estrelas e bateria ,baixo com tudo o que existe no mundo ,calma, violenta .agressiva ,melodiosa e bastante poderosa ,impecável.
9- Não há uma sem duas e esta com solos diferentes e destaco aqui pra auto criaçâo deste monstro da guitarra que vai buscar sons que só ele os sabe decifrar é demais ,que chuvaça de riffs, arpegios e solos continuados que parecem não ter fim .
10 - A mais melodiosa e penso que é o Derek que a canta boa malha (balada ) ótima melodia e voz de arrasto e profunda linda música ,ficará tb esta no meu roll (todas ) com ótimos solos e bem rápidinhos é muito dificil descrever este homem fdx só mesmo ouvindo é que se tira uma boa conclusâo.
11-Aqui começa o balanço do album como se estivesse a preparar a despedida do album a malha mais longa e trabalhada do album (penso)
Com o que atrás descrivi e aqui destaco a cristalidade dos solos parece ouro sobre água sem palavras .Se eu soubesse todas as notas de guitarra e outras cenas decerto todas caberiam aqui.
12- Até ao próximo album que tou farto de tocar pra vocês ,outra instrumental a fazer-me lembrar More ,Blackmore e claramente Jimi parece que já ouvi esta milhares de vezes sem nunca enjoar fdx

Obs :Ainda bem que temos cá (portugal)um (que eu saiba ) com estas fantásticas influências ,mas não vos digo quem é ,fica comigo que a mão dele tb deite fogo quando pega na menina .
Amigos tá uns comentários de merda mas pronto é o que penso ,falta apenas as partes mais tecnicas .

Just bought my ticket to see Yngwie in a couple weeks. I hope I see a better show than Lurideath did!

Listening to this album, I get a "Marching Out" kind of feel. Anyone else?

I say that because Ripper kinda sounds like JS Soto did on that album. Then there is the Dungeons and Dragons motif on a couple of songs which reminds me of Marching Out.

Anyone else get this vibe from the new album?

Saw Yngwie Malmsteen last night, excellent show, they even did a cover version of Rainbow's "Gates of Babylon' which was killer. Tim " Ripper" Owens was in great form and sounded great, especially on "Rising Force". After the show meet Tim Owens and had a few beers with him and even got a autograph for Spec since he couldn't make it. Also meet the opening act Anj which were not bad from Russia and they could barely speak a word of English, very cool guys.

Funniest thing happened during the show, Yngwie keeps throwing out picks, during " Black Star", he throws a pick and it smacks me right in forehead. I did get keep the pick, but Malmsteen saw what happened and smiled. Also during the drum solo, Yngwie on the side of the stage was blowing drying his hair, which is the first time I have ever seen anyone do this on stage.

I have cell phone pictures but I have no idea how to post them on this board, oh well, great show and very friendly guys. I did not get to meet Yngwie but maybe next time.

I saw a YouTube clip of Yngwie/Ripper doing "I Am A Viking" and Ripper was SLAYING that song!!!

Right before they did that song Ripper asks the crowd " How many of you are vikings!!!!" . I never had a chance to see the Ripper with Judas Priest but that guy has an incredible set of pipes, IMO Yngwie's best vocalist since Joe Lynn Turner.

On stage he was very good at interacting with the audience and him and Malmsteen seemed to have a good chemistry together. He even kept calling Malmsteen the mastro, which Malmsteen seemed to find amusing. Very good show, with a great set list, they encored with " Black Star", 'You Don't Remember" and "I'll See the Light Tonight"

I might have to get this CD. I have every other disc Ripper has sung on, but this oe didn't initially interest me too much. The whole revolving door vocalist thing with Malmsteen kind of turns me off. Still, sounds like a competent if not brilliant album.
