| Good music, good writing, but nothing they have really speaks to me. Even the songs that are a bit more 'heavy' lyrically, don't deliver musically. I just don't latch on to anything they put out that way. I never feel a lot of happiness, anger, sadness, ambience, or much else. It's just sort of this incredibly neutral, sort of carefree vibe 99% of the time. No drama in any direction, even the abstract. They aren't a totally blank crap slate like newer Dream Theater tends to be, but they still aren't nearly intense enough on any front for me to latch on to them. | |

| Been a fan since 1976 - talked my Mother into buying 2112 for me because I liked the album cover. Been a fanatic ever since. I wrote reviews for their entire catalog at one point, I'll have to do some digging on my computer at home and see if I can find it.
By some odd coincidence I'm listening to Snakes & Arrows right now... |

| I've owned the Rush in Rio DVD if that counts. I don't think the synergy of the band changed the actual music for me. I did dig the tumble drys. | |

2112 "speaks to me". I feel lots of emotion in the discovery of the ancient guitar, the priest crushing it, the dream sequence where he sees what is to come and ultimately, his death. But I think I know what you're saying; that's the way I feel about much of Rush's output; a lot of it seems to just "be there". Especially the newer stuff. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I can see that about the 2112 suite more than anything else I know of from them, too. It wasn't overly strong, but it stood out more in that way to me. | |

| This is clearly a band in which while I like songs, I'm not a fan really. The only albums I listen to are 2112 (a lot) and Signals (a little). But I have most of their early music for songs like Working Man and Lakeside Park or Bastille day. With that in mind, I've been known to call the song 2112 the greatest prog metal song ever. It might be. But I generally prefer Budgie when I'm in a Rush kind of mood. | |

| Every era, every album for me. There are certain songs that art not quite as strong, but no albums I don't enjoy. The music is (usually) stellar, but it's Neil Peart's lyrics that elevate them to MFB status in my world. | |

| I love Rush like Ult loves Aerosmith: LOVE the 70's stuff, like the 80's stuff more than most and maybe more than I should, the 90's and 2000's stuff aint classic but I like it nonetheless. Maybe my favorite band of all time (the '74-'81 Rush), they fluctuate in my top 3 but sometimes I listen to them non-stop for about a week. IMO they had a 4 or 5 year run where they might of put out the some of the best rock ever, IMHO.
