I've always been baffled by Americans' perception of righ twing and left wing. The Democrats are more conservative than any mainstream party in Holland, both socially and economically speaking. The most right wing party here, the VVD (People's Party for Freedom and Democracy), would probably be considered socialist in America. Although there is something of a Christian fundamentalist party here, almost nobody votes for them.

With that said, I'd consider myself a moderate conservative, or a right leaning liberal.

I lean libertarian. I used to listen to Rush back in the day, be he has become such a jackass since back in the day when he first started, he gives conservatives a bad name.

I am no fan of the christian right. I believe in free will and choice and I don't believe in legislating morality and both sides try to do that, depending on their view point.

I'm practically Neo-Hippy, but I have a conservative stance on a few of the hot topic issues. Apart from that, I think Rush Limbaugh knows how to play people well. He can fire up his legions and his retractors equally. Part of me hates him, part of me admires him.

That's pretty much how I am too. I'm liberal when it comes to the economy. I feel democrats actually do a better job handling the economy (out of the two parties). But I'm conservative when it comes to many social issues.

I'm registered as an independant on my voter card. I've voted both republican and democrat in the past though. In the last election I voted for Obama.

I actually debated with myself whether to even post this or not.

I'm impressed with how peaceful people here are when it comes to discussing politics. I've been involved with other forums in the past where people just take stuff like this way too personal. Makes it no fun.
