| Another re-issue of Killing is My Business is coming...
Century Media and Legacy Recordings have announced the 2018 deluxe reissue of MEGADETH's classic debut album, "Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good!", due on June 8.
"Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good - The Final Kill" has been completely restored to Dave Mustaine's intended vision. Remixed by veteran metal mixer Mark Lewis (WHITECHAPEL) and remastered by Ted Jensen for an optimal listening experience, the 2018 version reveals unheard parts and performances throughout the record.
This rare gem includes the full album along with seven live audio tracks from VHS tapes found in Dave Mustaine's own attic. In addition to the bonus live tracks, the 2018 reissue also features MEGADETH's 1984 three-track demo and the once-removed cover of Lee Hazlewood's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" that has been added back to the record with recut vocals intended to maintain the integrity of both the original song and MEGADETH's own snarling rendition. The package is further enhanced by a new album cover featuring a fully executed sculpture of the iconic skull that has been lost over the many years since the album's initial release. The packaging also includes classic flyers and band photos pulled from their archive of timeless metal moments from MEGADETH's storied 35-year history.
"The Final Kill" is the complete vision of Mustaine, who has contributed liner notes delving into the struggles during that time period as well as some of the surprising moments during the remixing sessions.
"I am just as much amazed at the music we made as I am at the pure fact that we survived it all," Mustaine said.

Wow, these must be of great quality Why would you not just add some sort of bonus video feature on the disc instead of audio rips from a VHS source?

So am I to understand that 2018 Dave re-did the vocals from a 1985 song? _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I wouldn't go out of my way to pick this up, but if the price was right I'd grab it cuz my old Combat Records copy is a later print that's missing "These Boots." _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I've got the original vinyl and the original CD and the remastered CD from a few years back but I'll still probably pick it up because I'm a sucker! A vinyl remaster would be nice Edit: Turns out there is a vinyl version this time around. Bought!

So am I to understand that 2018 Dave re-did the vocals from a 1985 song? Looks that way. Kind of silly because he had more of a biting snarl back then. Now it's more of a runny-nose whine.

Just remaster the original song and F*ck Lee Hazelwood, humorless prick! It was out there for 15 years and Hazelwood cashed in the whole time before deeming it offensive.

| I already bought the 2002 re-issue and have an un-edited version of 'These Boots' on the 'Dudes' soundtrack album, so I don't reckon I'll be getting this anytime soon. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Plus, all those live tracks have been in wide circulation over the years as soundboards for anyone to download. I'm shocked this is even coming out. So, the master tapes are supposedly lost for Rust, so why not do something with So Far, So Good, So What? How about some demos, a proper remaster and not that 2004 crap. That album has now been out for 30 years. | |

| I don't feel like checking Wiki, but isn't this like the 4th time this album has been redone? I have an original and a re master and then there is the one from the 2004 set that makes up a picture of Vic when all the spines are aligned properly. | |

| I don't know about this... I think this remaster has the guitar way too much on top of everything. One of the reasons I think the album is so great and interesting is how the drums and bass are in front of everything. I think the original sounded sinister and more chaotic partly because of that. The 2002(?) remaster took a bit of that away and this new remaster seems to do that even more.
That said, listening to that sample makes me still think that wow that's such a fantastic heavy metal track! One of my all time favorite Megadeth songs for sure. Scratch that... One of my all time favorite heavy metal tracks!

| I just listened to this today. I still don't get why they rerecorded the vocals for "These Boots." Dave's voice has obviously changed over the years. On the rerecording it sounds like he's trying to imitate the sound that he had on the original album. It still sounds out of place, and just kind of weird.
The bonus material sounds like what it is...audio ripped off of a VHS that has been sitting in storage for decades. Same goes for the demos.
Overall, I do like the remastering, but the bonus material is hardly essential.

| I just ordered a copy of the new Killing Is My Business cd. From the samples I've heard, it sound very good. Similar to what they did with Death's Human reissue. You can hear some of the nuances that were inaudible on the other versions. | |

| As far as "These Boots"... I wish they would've just removed it. I never liked it anyway! It's not a loss like when Metallica removed Blitzkrieg from Kill Em All. | |

I don't remember Blitzkrieg being on Kill Em All? Anyway the new version sounds killer, the bass and drums sound better and Dave's weak Lemmy impersonation on These Boots sucks but is less annoying than all that f*cking bleeping!
