| "Get Thrashed" -- cool documentary about the good ole days of the Bay Area, L.A. and New York thrash scenes. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| John Rambo: Very bloody and gorey and suprisingly good. What goes on in Burma is horrible and it was hard to watch the raid on the village knowing that crap like that actually goes on. Funny how the same level of brutality is easier to stomach when it's happening to the bad guys. | |

I was surprised how much I liked this one. And you're right; very gory. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

As mentioned above it's not as good as Casino Royale, but it's a damn good movie. My only complaint is that the editing is too fast (but that's a common complaint of mine), especially during the car chase sequences. But it still delivers the goods when it matters and manages to balance the action with good characters and tightly written subplots. Yep - it would have been hard to top Casino Royale as that was one of the best bond films every and a really overall great movie!

I saw that last summer and it was by far the most violent movie I have ever seen. Not a bad film though. I just watched "The Heartbreak Kid" not very funny at all. Peace.

one of my very favorite movies of late. the nostalgia factor plays a big part in that though. the fantastic violence plays another. great movie. _________________

| American Hardcore - The History Of American Punk Rock 1980-1986 Pretty cool documentary, although I don't feel that punk died in 86 as they suggest. And they kind of rag on bands like Gang Green going the crossover route and the Bad Brains for the reggae. So it lost some points with me on those counts. One cool thing about the interviews is how they're framed with these great cd/vinyl collections in the background. I even spotted a Judas Priest Metalogy box in one of them.
Lords Of Dogtown - I held out a long time due to loving Dogtown and the Z-boys. Surprised me how well I liked it.

I most definatly want to see that one (waiting for the drive-in theater to play it along with Madagascar 2. Tropic Thunder-still a very funny movie (still kind of wished Tom Cruise's character would have gotten his ass kicked).

| "The Happening" -- the latest from M. Night Shamalama-however you say it (the "Sixth Sense"/"Unbreakable" guy). It started off VERY promising and creepy but the wheels began to fall off about halfway thru, and it ended with a whimper rather than a bang. Disappointing. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

The wife and I "acquired" a DVD of this about 4 months ago. My wife hated it so much that when it was complete she quietly walked to the DVD player, ejected the DVD and threw it as far as she could out of the backyard. She said that the movie is no longer allowed in our home. |

Well, we didn't hate it quite THAT much but we certainly didn't love it either. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
