Part 2 of
Olafsto's Comp.
Scariot - MonopolizeVery good vocals on this song and they really stand out, this is a good band but I feel that the lack of a constant line up is hampering their progression. (from the album
Strange to Numbers 2003)
Falconer - Lament for a MinstrelExcellent band & Album. Both
Olaf & myself sent songs from this record to each other during this swap. (from the album
Chapters from a Vale Forlorn 2002)
Dropkick Murphys - Workers SongGreat song from a great album, can't fault this one bit. (from the album
Blackout 2003)
Astral Doors - New RevelationChrist,
Olafsto must have more Swedes than a
Stockholm supermarket.
Best song off of the bands weakest album to date (from the album
New Revelation 2007)
Titanium Black - Words Good vocalist but the songs is way to slow for me, there's no life in it whatsoever, would love to hear a faster song. (from the album
Bleed for you 2004)
D.A.D - JihadWhat a song, I love it, after listening to it for the 26th consecitive time I just wanted to pick up a gun and invade
Scandinavia by myself. (from the album
No Fuel Left .... 1989)
King Kobra - HungerShite song, Shite album, Shite Band. 'nuff said. (from the album
Ready to Strike 1985)
Overlorde - When he ComesDesperatly slow start to the song but when it gets going and boy does it go, I was getting thoughs of
Crimson Glory's Midnight in some of the vocals and then
Iron Maiden was coming to mind at other times, the vocalist on this CD is
Bobby Lucas of
Seven Witches fame. Certainly one for the "to buy list". (from the album
Return of the Snow Giant 2004)
Frost - What's LeftAnother great song,
Olafsto the cute bastard must have shagged off to the
US and told noone,
Jack Frost or should I say the
American Gus G. I never liked this album that much or the follow up "
Out in the Cold", reason being too many guests, I hate that crap, the earlier
Frost albums released under the
Frost Bite moniker were much better in my opinion. (from the album
Raise your Fist to Metal 2003)
Nuclear Blast Allstars - EternallyGood Vocals, otherwise crap. ohh and Olfasto's back on the European soil again, cute bastard. (from the album "
couldn't be arsed looking it up")
Gotthard - El TraitorYip
Olaf's back. Great song, can't understand a fooking goddamn word of it but I like it, But I found myself singing "
Anytime, Anywhere", which is another
Gotthard song, but the two names don't match up in the different languages ???? conspiracy ?? where are
Opus Dei when you want them. (from the CD
Single El Traitor 2006) though I wouldn't figure that out, didn't you
Olaf !!
Sirenia - The Other SideThe new album is not as good a previous releases but it's a solid one all the same, It's nice to get a bit of diversity in the old comp and what better than a wee bit of
Gothic Metal, lord that singer has a mouth on her that would suck a 2 euro coin through the eye of a needle, emmmmmmmmmmmmmm (from the album
Nine Destinies and a Downfall or
Nine Scandinavian bands and another 2007)
Witchhammer - Enola G.a.yWTF ? a norwegian band ? it couldn't be, could it ? well fook me sideways and call me
Emily it is a band from
Norway, well I'll tell ya that was a bolt from the blue, there was some hope for you
Olaf when you had a few
US bands in a row, then you headed to
Switzerland (
Gotthard) but no, you couldn't control yourself could you ? you had to head back up to
Scandinavia. This better be the last band from that region on the CD, thank christ the
US Griffin is next. Great
Thrash Metal by the way. (from the album
1487 1990)
Griffin - LifeforceYou cheeky bastard, I though this was the
US band but with surnames like
Karlsen &
Nergaard appearing in the bands bio I soon found out they weren't american, Excellent
Heavy Metal, I had all the albums but sold them last year when I was having a clean out, I may invest again in some of them, It's hard to understand why they are unsigned at the moment, maybe I should sign them ?? (from the album
Lifeforce 2005)
Carnivora - Staring into DarknessHave a guess where these guys are from ? go on, as a prize I'll give the winner a one way ticket to
NORWAY, yes that's
NORWAY.
Good
Heavy Metal though, but just nothing good enough to make me want to buy their albums (unless it comes with a free one way ticket OUT of
Norway !!) (from the album
Judas 2004)
TNT - EddieFor the love of all that is holy, truthfully I was looking down the song list and when I saw
TNT, I always assumed that they were from the states, how wrong could I have been, all these years and only now I find out that they are from a reclusive part of the world which in similarities to the word "
Macbeth" you dare not say as it's told that saying that word brings untold misery and hardship, but I'll break the silence and name this poor unfortuate country and shall take on any evil that is sent my way, what is the country I hear you whisper, well brace yourselves because the country I speak of is
NOR "fookin'" "fookin'" "fookin'" WAY (yes the poor mans
Iceland).
Olafsto can shaft himself if he thinks I'll ever do another swap with him, never never, never.
Nice ballad to end the disc though. Go on
Olaf you good thing
(from the album
Knights of the New Thunder 1984)
Overall through the 2 discs what did I find out ? well I found I have a greater hatred from
Norway than I do for the
UK, I also found out that there is more bands in
Norway than I though ever possible, I also realise that
Olaf needs to get out more, there's a whole wide world of
Metal out there boss to be explored.
I'd certainly do a swap again (but not with a Norwegian
). only kidding, thank
Olaf for the great tunes, lots of bands that I had never checked out. hope you are having fun with mine.
Kmorg &
Spectrfate, it's up to you guys now.
