Recent Melodic Hard Rock releases...

I love me some Melodic Hard Rock/Metal! Stuff that's not quite Power Metal, but not "Hair Band" either...some of my recent faves:

Allen/Lande is good. Others:

Zillion, Brazen Abbot, Jorn, Pretty Maids, TNT and many others

Brazen Abbot is awesome!!

Pretty Maids & Jorn are way up on the list for me too...

I've never heard Zillion...

The 8th Sin would most certainly fall into this category. A good album, but so different from what this band use to be.

Mad Max is very cool!!

Danny Vaughn is sorta hit & miss w/ me...prefer him in Tyketto & On The Rise...

That Action album is GREAT!!!

Leverage & The Codex, IMO, are closer to Power Metal/Prog Metal...but both good...especially The Codex...

Journey's "Generations" record hit me strong at first, then faded...4 or 5 really good songs...

Indigo Dying was missing that "it" factor...all the parts separately are good...but the songs left me cold...

Never heard Excalion...

I need to track down 'The 8th Sin'....I like their 'Afterlife' album a lot...

Excalion I suppose is also more power/prog. But melodic at the same time.

I'm glad someone else digs Action.

The Indigo Dying took about 3 spins before I started to really like it.

Her vocals, while good, don't "sell it" for me....I'll spin it a couple more times, but the vibe she's putting out just doesn't sit with me...needs more harmonies too...
