| I was thinking the other day about what other people consider their favorite melodic (non metal) guitar solos...
Some of mine are:
Journey - Send Her My Love Eagles - Hotel California Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street Lindsey Buckingham - Trouble

The title made me think of this article. Anyway, Prince has some nice solos in his own songs, too.

| The Tubes - Talk To Ya Later The Tubes - She's A Beauty Toto - Hold The Line All three are Steve Lukather solos!
Peter Frampton - Breaking All The Rules Peter Framtpon - I Read The News (a mediocre song with a really good solo) Journey - Who's Crying Now (That ending solo is killer)

| Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb Marillion - Chelsea Monday (could probably pick a lot of Marillion solos, but that's the one I'll go with for now) Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody All About Eve - December Genesis - Firth Of Fifth Mick Ronson's solo on David Bowie's Moonage Daydream Arena - Tears In The Rain Rush - Available Light | |

| Hmm... Have to give this some thought.
Two that spring to mind probably aren't widely known on the board.
Marillion - Neverland
That Marillion song gives Comfortably Numb a run for its money, but is kind of a slow burn, so it may not be to everyone's taste.
Therion - Asgard
Off of what is probably my favorite from Therion - albeit one that desperately needs a remix/remaster as it is congested as hell at points. The ending solo on this track just gives the vibe you want from this. The entire album is a concept outlining the different worlds of Norse mythology and the solo on Asgard has both a soaring and a yearning quality to it that caps the song perfectly. Really sorry that lineup of the band isn't around anymore.
