Makes me wanna go through all my old (NWOBHM) vinyl & cassettes to see who it got copped from.

So this took me 4 listens to really catch. The 1st listen I thought it was pure 100% trash shit! By the 4th time I understood and its catchy. His vocals still suck and I hate the guitar tone. But if this is the best they can do after all this time, then I have nothing to say. I would never buy a Metallica album anyway. If this was any other band releasing this, it would be laughed at or forgotten about instantly. Leave it to the Metallica fanboys to love everything they release though. Typical.

(IMHDO) Metallica has not put out a good album since "MoP"
Liked them best in that developmental stage, ya know an El Lay club band still trying to figure shit out.

The first three albums with Cliff are timeless classics! AJFA is enjoyable…
I also like a couple tunes from the black album. “Sad But True” and “Holier Than Thou” are the last remnants of the quality stuff.

I might like "Painkiller" by Priest more than "....And Justice For All"

I listened to it a couple times, and really can't stand it. The drums stood out as a high point, which did surprise me, because I didn't think Lars had that in him anymore. The guitar tone really gets on my nerves though, and just sounds so weak compared to how they used to sound. Of course I haven't liked anything they've done since the Black albums, but I did come at this one with an open mind and just nothing sticks out as amazing to me.

It’s got a COC vibe in the beginning. It also continues the NWOBHM theme.
Not bad! Much better than the last album so far!

I honestly just do not like either of those tracks... Everything SOUNDS ok, but they do not click with me. While it sounds proficient, it's just uninspired...
James vocals are SHOT.

Another Dad Rock snorefest. It's boring ,safe, predictable, and almost cringe worthy in it's contrived angst. My once favorite band on Earth has become a sad parody of themselves.

As far as Hetfield’s voice goes… I haven’t liked his singing since TBA. His vocals were at his maximum coolness on Master and Justice.
I still stand by my “okay” assessment of the new music. But it pales in comparison to Mustaine’s Megadeth output!
This is proof that Dave Mustaine is the Alpha Dog of all the thrash pioneers. The dude still can play like a madman while the others struggle to stay relevant.

I like the first track better than the second. The second song seems a bit clunky.

I prefer James when he kinda barked out those lyrics vs. now where he thinks he's a super great singer.

Yep! His barking voice was very complimentary to the music. There was no reason to sing when they were aggressive. Although I do like his singing voice on Fade to Black. He was known to match his voice to the cadence of the main riff of the songs. It was a winning formula.

I wonder if kids have committed suicide while blasting Metallica. Kids did it with a Judas Priest song. Even Ozzy. Suicide Solution. I believe a few kids went. Just saying.

Possibly some people became suicidal after they heard St. Anger the first time.
