| Watched the highlights of Joe Kelly pissing off the Cheatstros. He gets suspended 8 games yet the Cheatstros don't get one suspension for the WS cheating victory. What a commissioner for baseball! | |

| Yeah I saw that too.
But c'mon, Joe Kelly???? He wasn't even on the Dodgers in 2017.
And Kelly is something of a loose cannon. Remember he started out with my Cardinals so I'm more than familiar with him. It wouldn't surprise me if he totally did this on his own, "went rogue" so to speak. But if you're going to throw at somebody in an attempt to "send a message" for something that happened three years ago to a team you weren't even on, for goodness sake don't do it in such an obvious situation.
The whole thing is just stupid and even stupider if the Dodgers sanctioned it. Good grief, with all the other sh*t going on in the world why the hell are you trying to extract a pound of flesh now for something that happened 3 years ago???
I think he deserves the 8 game suspension if for no other reason than being an infantile dick.

| Watched the Pirates lose to the Brewers 3-0, mustering one little in field hit the entire game. Will there ever be a real baseball team in Pittsburgh again? | |

I get what you're saying. Even though that happened 3 years ago it was out to the world before this season. And not 2017. MLB has even acknowledged that the Astros would be targeted by other teams besides LA. Kelly couldn't have found the strike zone that night if he was 5 inches from it. I'm not sure if all his pitches were intentional. Btw, I watched LA beat the Cheatstros in 13 innings last night. Then watched some of the Mariners and Angels game.

| And if it's team-sanctioned retaliation then why not have the "messenger" be Kenly Jensen? At least he was on the team when that all went down.
I mean I get it; the Cardinals and the Reds go at it all the time over the Brandon Phillips/Johnny Cueto/Yadier Molina incident that happened a lot longer ago than this issue between the Dodgers and the Astros. But c'mon, surely they can hold the grudge until next year when things are more "normal". It just seem super petty now given everything else that's going on.
EDIT: I just looked it up and that big, nasty brawl was in 2010 but I guess as long as Molina is still playing it's still "bulletin board fodder" for the Reds and Cardinals because it still comes up EVERY year when they play. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| ...and today's Cardinal game with the Brewers was postponed because 2 Cardinal pitchers tested positive. The tests were administered 7/29 while the team was in Minnesota. They flew to Milwaukee yesterday and received the results late last night. Everyone is self-quarantining in their hotel in Minnesota.
And MLB issued a new on-the-fly rule that all doubleheaders this season will consist of two 7 inning games. How much longer before the entire MLB season just collapses? _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| And that strikes me as odd. The virus seems to be rather prevalent in MLB but not one case has appeared in the NHL...yet. We'll see how things go as their season progresses. | |

| I don't know whether guys are sneaking out of their hotels on the road or what. But first the Marlins and now St. Louis, both on the road. So they're not picking up the virus from friends or family. And every team has hotel to stadium to hotel restrictions in place on the road. So either the hotel staff infected them or they snuck out and went to a bar or restaurant or something. The Cardinals testing positive were test from 7/29 which I think was before MLB installed this new position of "team monitor" on all teams so who knows? _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I watched two of the hockey games today, as it was the first day of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
I watched the game between the Carolina Hurricanes and the New York Rangers (Carolina won 3-2), and the game between the Edmonton Oilers and the Chicago Blackhawks (Chicago won 6-4).

I caught one period of the Rangers game, but I watched the entire Hawks game. A very exciting high scoring affair. The Saad - Toews - Kubalik line was on fire!

| Watched the Cardinals lose the first game of a doubleheader with the Pirates 4-3 in eight innings. I'm still not sure how I feel about this "automatic man on second" in extra innings. It does definitely add some instant strategy to the game and in this weird and shortened season it makes sense because no one wants to play a 19 inning marathon. And until today's game I didn't realize that the man you put on second is the man who made the last out in the team's previous inning; I thought you could just pick anybody you wanted. That adds even more strategy because if you have some really slow catcher make the last out you might think about sacrificing him to third. This was the first extra inning game the Cards played; it was 1-1 after 7.
EDIT: Also watched the Cardinals do nothing in game two. 2-0 Pirates sweep of the DH. Pathetic. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I just can't get into this baseball season at all. It seems almost surreal to me. And hockey is even worse. It looks like nothing but scrimmages going on. | |
