Yeah I'm having a hard time getting into it too. I mean I'm watching games but I'm just not excited about it like I usually am. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Yeah I'm having a hard time getting into it too. I mean I'm watching games but I'm just not excited about it like I usually am. Same here. Any sports at the moment. I did try watching some of the Braves and Phillies game. I wasn't into it and turned it away.

| I "watched" the Cards lose their 4th in a row. I use quotation marks because while the game was on I wasn't really paying attention. And we lost again but I don't really care. This schedule was untenable. With the 17 day layoff because of Covid the only way the Cardinals could make up games was to play 55 games in 43 days. NO team could survive that. I mean the Cardinals have had zero days off since they started back up and already played 4 or 5 doubleheaders (I've lost track).
I was all for just cancelling the season because every single statistic from this season will have an asterisk. Cy Young? Asterisk MVP? Asterisk. Batting title? Asterisk. World Series Champion? Asterisk. Just call it The Asterisk Season. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Watched the Cardinals finally beat a team as Adam Wainwright threw a complete game against Cleveland and the Cardinals won 7-2. Of note, it was Wainwright's 39th birthday and this was his first complete game since 2016. Great outing too. A 2-run HR in the first but after that 9 strikeouts and only 2 more hits. 124 pitches. Who throws that many pitches anymore???? _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

No one. I can't believe they let Wainright do that. Incredible.

| The bullpen had thrown 15 innings in the previous 2 games so Saturday night Wainwright texted manager Mike Schildt and told him "You won't need anyone else tomorrow." And they didn't. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I watched the Chiefs and Texans. It was actually better than any other sport I've watched recently. There was even a small crowd in attendance, about 15,000 people. Hopefully, all will go well for the season. | |

| Watched the Cards split yet another doubleheader with the Brewers. First game was great, second game was a blowout for the Brewers which is when I switched over to AEW and caught that outstanding "street fight". _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I'm still hanging in there with watching baseball (even games the Cardinals aren't in) but I'm still finding it difficult to get excited about much of it. And I'm sure as hell not watching the NFL. I was already pissed at the league for the whole Rams thing but when they started bringing politics into it I was totally out.
Still watching college games though. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Meanwhile, I believe the Pirates secured the first overall pick in next year's draft. They'll end up drafting that stud pitcher out of Vanderbilt, who'll end up being a Yankee, Dodger, or Red Sox within 5 years.

Amazing when you think about it. This team missed 17 games while they were quarantined in Milwaukee. And they had to make all that up after 11 players tested positive for the virus. Yet here we are. And they'll have to do what they did during the aborted regular season, PITCH. The Cardinal offense is iffy at best so they'll have to pitch their way to keep going in the post-season. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
