I pre-ordered the second volume of Jobcentre Rejects.

I also ordered Alice in Chains' Dirt. I was not huge on the "grunge" scene at the time, though I did own and love this CD when it came out. I listened to hundreds of time for about 6 months and then shelved it and never went back to it. I've reignited my obsession with it recently and wanted to get it on CD again.

Funny thing I've started to realize as I got older, and this probably could be its own thread, but there is no such thing as grunge. There were punks and metalheads in the northwest that played heavy shit without a lot of wild solos and while wearing sweaters. Pearl Jam is the only band from that scene that I still do not like, and I feel their sound really encapsulates what was preceived as the grunge sound, though Soundgarden, AIC, Nirvana and bands like Mudhoney and Gruntruck, etc., did not really sound like that. They just were part of the same crew of guys, sharing bandmembers and all that. I don't hate grunge, just Pearl Jam I guess.

Thanks to Retroactive and Roxx, I've been filling some holes in my Christian metal collection lately. When I first became a Christian, all these releases were selling for ridiculous prices used, nice to finally get some of them.

Why was "Tell the World" by Ratt excluded from later pressings of Metal Massacre I?

A bit of trivia: On the back of Metal Massacre I, Metallica's name is spelled "Mettallica".

It was a rights issue. Brian Slagel didn't know he needed to secure rights to these bands so they were omitted from subsequent pressings.

Only on the back of the very first LP pressing, which was only a few thousand copies. It was corrected on all future pressings.
