New year, new thread. Impress us with your latest acquisitions on CD, vinyl, cassette, 8-track, reel-to-reel, MiniDisc, or whatever.
Here's my first score of the New Year! The local "cool" record store posted on their Instagram that they'd just taken in a big collection of 80s metal CDs, and they were open on New Year's Day, so of course I had to go check it out.
Exodus - Bonded By Blood (reissue w/alternate cover)
TNA - s/t (Eonian Records)
TNT - Tell No Tales

I really dig that album; I like most of Gilby Clarke's musical output outside of GnR. Ever heard the Col. Parker band album? It's basically Clarke and Slim Jim Phantom's band. I also really like Clarke's late 80s band Kill For Thrills.

I had no idea he had any solo albums beyond this one, I remember it got radio play locally and then he seemed to have faded away

Megadeth - So Far... So Good... So What (vinyl)
My first 2020 purchase was this, but on CD. The earlier pressing, not the 2004 remix/remaster hack job.
SFSGSW was the first thrash metal tape I got, when I was 12. I got it based on Megadeth's "No More Mr. Nice Guy" video for the Shocker soundtrack, which I was obsessed with. That video in conjunction with Alice Cooper's "Poison" video the same year is what started my love for the Coop.
SFSGSW then led me down the thrash path, as it was the first really heavy album I bought. I had been listening to GNR, Crue, etc. And it also introduced me to the Sex Pistols. I bought Never Mind the Bollocks soon after.
So basically, Megadeth helped define many aspects of my life and began or fostered my love of: -thrash -Alice Cooper -punk rock
Not bad for one record.

Awesome, brother!! I know I have said this before but SFSGSW was one of the few albums that absolutely ruled my summer of 1988. When my family would rent our beach house for a couple of weeks each summer, I would strap my board across my back and put on my Walkman. Then I would ride my bike to the bathhouse on the empty beach where me and my family/ cousins spent the day baking in the sun, then ride the stone ramps and try to do tricks without breaking my face. Fukin' great times!!! Not bad for one record.
