I've never had a Twinkie but they look utterly disgusting! (with or without radioactive slime)
Seriously guys, are fresh cakes that hard to come by in the states?

That's hilarious! A hell of a lot funnier than that remake is going to be.
indeed it is!!
I like the attention to detail; the color of what's going on in the trailer is reflected in Stay Puft man's eyes and his mouth and eye expressions subtly reveal what he's thinking. Very well done!

I'll not watch this movie, until Netflix has it streaming. Even then I probably won't watch it. I loved the originals and they don't need to be re-made. Hollyweird is getting desperate for movies these days with all the remakes.

I just read that they are going to remake Ben-Hur. It'll be CG-mania!
Ghostbusters is one of my top 3 favorite movies of all time. But this...is an abomination. I like McCarty and Weig at times, but not shoehorned in to a remake/ reboot that didn't need to be remade or rebooted. The R&R's are the reason why I haven't gone to a cinema since 2007.
I was wondering if you'd all picked this one up. I needn't have worried.
This thing seemed like a bad idea to me from the word "go" because the first announcement before there was even a script in place if memory serves was "We're going to be all progressive and have an all-female cast."
Had that organically developed as a funny way to tell a story, I wouldn't have cared. When it seemed like the makings of a cart were put before anyone bothered to look for a horse, I started smelling a rat.
I intentionally avoided watching the trailer for a while. Unfortunately, it played before Deadpool, so bang went my innocence. And, what can I say? All of my worst instincts were proved right on this. They couldn't even front load the trailer with decent jokes. It's just... fluff. I mean, say what you want about the originals, but love or hate them, they weren't just fluff.
And people here know for a fact that I don't jump on this bandwagon and think the accusation is so worn out that it's gotten silly, but that is the most friggin' racist depiction of a black woman I've ever seen - and I worked in an inner city library, so I dealt with a few.
Winston was the everyman in the originals, true, but he wasn't barely literate and always screaming about the ghosteses. This is just such an obnoxious parody of a stereotype that I want to know who gave that the thumbs up in this tidy little "progressive" movie.
The worst thing for my money is that I could see a way to make this idea of going a little off reservation work. Problem is, it'd involve finding a comedy team that writes as well as acts together. I think if Key and Peele had been the core of the team, it would have been hilarious. Hell, make the other two women if it floats your boat. I think it would have been hilarious because they're capable of over the top comedy as well as slightly more subtle stuff.
Instead, we get the stuff the frat and sorority kids feel is beneath them passed off as cool stuff because of the "progressive" casting. BLECH. Gotta love the sweeping generalizations in social media about it too - "If you don't like it, it's because you're a neckbeard who hates women."
Hell, they could have just built it around Sigorney Weaver and I would have at least given it a chance...
