I used to have a pretty decent collection of glam/proto-glam/punk/proto-punk/post-punk/garage/whatever collection before selling all my CDs. I'm working on re-building it, one disc at a time. So I recently bought this classic:

They look like the New York Dolls with a bigger wardrobe budget. Is it safe to assume the music is Dolls flavored as well?

Yes, they are definitely Dolls flavored. If you like the New York Dolls, you would likely enjoy the Brats. The Dolls are way more essential, but Hollywood Brats are just good glammy rowdy fun in that style, by way of the UK. Members went on to form my favorite 70s punk band, The Boys.

Two of their finest, underrated classics
With Joe Comeau, they finally had a guy with the lungs to do the "Annihilator sound" justice. With Annihilator I always felt they were a lead vocalist away from being amazing. And Waters' songwriting was close or up to Alice/Neverland level here, too. Maybe not quite, but almost.

Exactly right. I regret taking this long to purchase these 2 over the last few Annihilator albums I've hauled in. Goes to show that you can't take these biased reviews with a grain of salt.

Let me know what you think of that S.U.N.
I love Sass Jordan but I just found this album lacking. I think it was too blues-oriented or something for me.

Listened to the first two songs on the way home, and I thought they were really good. We'll see how the rest come off. For $1.99, though, it's already worth it. =)

As most of you know (and are probably tired of me bringing this up), I'm not really buying music right now. Mainly for a budget, but also a dwindling passion for music. Well, after over 20 years of my music passion, it was only a matter of time til it came back. It did this morning and I came to the decision to buy maybe 1-2 CDs every month or so. I can't ever go back to the way I used to buy music but if I limit my spending to a small, select amount of music (making sure to get as much overtime as my job allows). So I went to Best Buy but found several stuff on my wantlist. In the past I would have bought two but I'm determined to discipline myself this time around. I narrowed it to Dragonforce and another one. I decided to keep Dragonforce for another time and got:
