I'm such a sucker for AC/DC "clones". Bought another one:

Extremely slim pickin's at the thrift store today but amongst the CD-Rs, outdated software discs and scratched up Radio Disney compilations I managed to dig out...
Bad Company - 10 From 6

Better than anything I ever found from a thrift store. No, I take that back. I actually got a cool TSO shirt from Goodwill once.

Some excellent bluesy hard rock.
The CD came free with Classic Rock magazine. I thought it sounded like it would be cool in the little description, but I could not get into it all. I didn't even make it through the whole album. No harm done, as it was free, of course.

I have been spinning that so much (easy because it's short), and damn does it rule. Now if they would repress the 7", I'd be set, as I'm not paying $50 for it.

This particular thrift store has been pretty good to me over the years, I guess cuz I'm the only one who's got enough patience to sort thru the disorganized mess on the CD shelf in order to root out the goodies. I don't make a score every time I visit but I do well enough to keep me coming back.
*Edit* After checking my collection list on RateYourMusic, it looks like I've picked up more than 20 CDs from that thrift shop over the past two years. That's an even better batting average than I thought.

I actually forgot all about it and when a packaged showed up I had no idea what it was! I really dig it. Thanks for the heads up on it.

No problem, dude. I've already seen black vinyl copies sell for $60ish on eBay, and clear copies for over a hundred. The band members have been selling test presses too, and they've gone in the $150+ range.
My recent pickup:
Tora Tora- Surprise Attack from a thrift store for $1.50
They actually had a handful of good things today, I just already had them all except the Tora Tora. They had T. Rex's Electric Warrior and KISS' Sonic Boom and Monster. If someone didn't have those, it would not be a bad little hall for like $7.

The NRG CD I talked about in the NRG thread I started arrived. For those concerned with this kind of thing, it's a CDR (I am not concerned with that sort of thing). It does come in a standard jewel case, though, with front and back art (though just kind of a generic cover with band name/song titles, etc):

So weird adding digital albums to my collection. I'm still not sure if it makes sense.

Weird thriftstore pickup:
Dead on Arrival -Alive and Kickin' (1995)
When I first saw the "DOA" on the cover I thought it was a disc by the long running Canadian punk rock band, but this is apparently an indie release by a local yokel NY/NJ area hard rock/metal band. I never heard of em but I recognized bass player Mike LePond's name from Symphony X, and they also give a shout out to Ult's pals in Heathen's Rage (!!) in the thanks list, so I figured it was worth risking a buck on. Haven't had time to spin it yet though...

Pretty good album. It sounds like the cover looks, though. Kind of low-budget, you know. But yeah, it's solid. You should dig it.

^^ I listened to a few tracks, it's pretty much what I expected, i.e. local yokel Priest/Motley Crue worship. Haha. It's OK...but yeah, low budget as hell.

Wait what!? Caffery is releasing stuff again? I should be all over this. Is there an album coming out?
Last time it took 6 months to get a CD release after the digital release. But he made it worthwhile with the signed CD and poster.
