Two so far this year and ones a doozie!
Purson - The Contract/Blueprints of a Dream 7" blk vinyl
I'd kind of given up on this as it was a special pressing just for Rise Above's 25 birthday bash a few days ago and originally only to be sold at the gig. I was pretty upset about this as I have been a total fanboy collector of vinyl by this band since they first appeared on my radar and there has been no other vinyl appearance of BoaD. There were 100 clear & 200 black and after quite a lot of pleading, moaning and name calling from non London based fans, they held back 50 of the black for people who could not get to the gig, and I got one this morning.
Oh, and I also bought Blind Illusion - The Sane Asylum because it was cheap.

I actually found a few CDs at my local shop that I wanted. That's a rarity now, as the section is ever shrinking.
-Bruce Springsteen- Tunnel of Love. This is my least favorite of his albums, but I still like a lot of the tunes on it. And well, this was one of two that I needed to complete his studio discog. $4
-KISS- Ace Frehley. I am currently trying to replace my former remaster copies with the original pre-master versions. This is my favorite KISS album period, so grabbed it up. $5
-Love- Forever Changes. Been wanting to add this essential album to my collection for a while. $8.
-Heavy Nuggets Vol. 2. This looks to be a free comp that came with Mojo in June 2013. It's got a BS Vol. 4 take off cover, but it's 15 very late 60s/early 90s heavy/fuzz/blue rock, and I love this stuff. I'm familiar with a couple of the bands (Pretty Things and Open Mind, of course, and Dragonfly) but I haven't heard a lot of this stuff. $3.

First additions for 2014:
Elephant Mountain - Birth Of A Conspiracy Just Joe - Got Joe? (EP) Just Joe - Just Joe (EP) Just Joe - My Demons, My Burden, My Life Just Joe - So The Story Goes... Mechina - Xenon (Digital) Moody Gloom - Voodoo (EP) (Digital) Sense Field - Killed For Less
Just Joe is the solo work from the Elephant Mountain singer, Joe Altier. Really great stuff. VERY Bob Seger-esque. I didn't know he had any solo material until I ordered the new Elephant Mountain.
The second video is a brilliant cover of a Ben Harper song. Might not impress you guys, as it's a piano ballad, but I love it. I'm a big Ben Harper fan, though. You can download it free at http://www.justjoe.com.

Three of the best albums ever recorded.
While you're at it, if you don't already have it, you should look into the double reissue of Sacred Reich's Ignorance/Surf Nicaragua. SR does a killer cover of "Sweet Leaf", among others, that is a bonus track here.
Plus, those 2 releases by SR are absolutely essential thrash.

I'd also add American Way to the list of SR essentials.
Quote :
Bruce Springsteen- Tunnel of Love
My favorite Springsteen. To me one of the greatest break-up records ever. One Step Up is such a killer song. The hate for this record has always baffled me.
From gohastings
Marillion - Misplaced Childhood 2 disc remaster
Thanks to an amazon seller I finally own
Liege Lord - Master Control
I was a little worried about it being a boot but the seller seemed to have none of the red flags (selling a ton of rarities cheaply and such) and the price was too good not to take a chance. Legit and in great condition.

American Way is definitely essential, but I remember seeing that on his list of thrash he already has from his suggestion request post. I like Indepedent and Heal as well, but I wouldn't call them essential. And they are less thrashy.
As for Tunnel, I don't personally hate it (but I know it is generally maligned), but it's just my least favorite. When it comes to an artist like Bruce, though, that's not saying a whole hell of a lot. There are definitely several songs on this album that I think are excellent and deserving of the same love that a lot of other tunes get.
However, the song "Tunnel of Love"...I don't care for that song much. I will say the only Springsteen song I flat out just cannot stand at all is "Philadelphia".
