"Terror of Mechagodzilla" (1975) A mad scientist teams up with Space aliens intent on world conquest and together they sic Mechagodzilla and Titanosaurus on Tokyo. Naturally this attracts the attention of The Big Green Guy, who does the usual Monster Mash to protect his turf. Nonsensical but fun.

That whole era of G films is something I think most people love. There's enough action to keep kids interested and the overall cheesiness is something to behold for adults.

I'm not 100 percent sure but I think "Terror of Mecha-G" was the first Godzilla movie I ever saw as a kid. The local ABC station used to air "The 4:30 Movie" on weekday afternoons and I remember seeing it during "Monster Week."

Oddly, I didn't even know that Terror existed until I was in my 20s and found it at the old mom and pop video rental store. Needless to say, I rented it on sight. And if you haven't,try watching the Japanese version. It's much better not chopped up and makes a little bit more sense (for instance,Mecha G doesn't conveniently blow a fuse at the end of the movie as it does in the dubbed american version).

In The Flesh
Another slightly different take on the zombie thing (although it's taken me a while to watch this, so it predates some of the others)
Like a few others, it seems to be about the undead struggling to reintegrate into society, but in this one, it's years after they rose from the dead and the full on brain munching zombie apocalypse did happen, but then a treatment was found that could bring the zombies back to who they were as people, although, without contact lenses and make up, they pretty much still look like zombies. They have been kept in institutions for years but now they are being sent back to the communities they came from, who had to resort to brutal zombie killing in order to survive in the first place so are not really in the mood to forgive, forget or trust the returnees. The zombies also have flashbacks and have to try to deal with the guilt of what they have done.
There is a lot to this show and some great actors, I'll definitely be carrying on with this.

Judge Judy - Prime Time
I know a lot of people hate this show but I love it. She cracks me up. This show and sports are a couple of the few things my dad and I have in common. It's funny because my mom hates her and my dad kept telling my mom he wanted to host a Judge Judy Prime Time watch party. She wasn't amused.

"Doomsday" (2008) 30 years after a virus devastated the population of Britain and turned Scotland into a quarantined wasteland, a team is sent deep into the "Hot Zone" in hopes of discovering a cure. Unfortunately they have to fight their way thru opposing clans of Medieval warriors and crazed mutant bikers in order to find it.
Neil "The Descent" Marshall's post apocalyptic action epic doesn't have an original bone in its body (it borrows heavily from "Escape From New York" and the "Mad Max" series, to name just a few) but it's a hella fun, hyper violent, action packed, gory ride!

I mostly enjoyed Doomsday but I agree with Freddy that it's very derivative and somewhat disappointing considering it came after the extremely excellent "The Descent". That movie is the only reason I even gave Doomsday a look.

"Big Ass Spider!' (2013) Los Angeles is under attack from a... well, you know, and it's up to an exterminator and his security-guard sidekick to help the military get rid of it. A very funny, tongue in cheek horror spoof that was a cut above the usual SyFy channel schlock.

Yeah, like I said, it doesn't have an original bone in its body but "Doomsday" is fun stuff. It's defintely not boring!! You get a killer virus, total societal breakdown, car crashes, decapitations, cannibalism, lotsa sh*t blowin' up real good, etc.
Neil Marshall never had that big a budget to play with before so he just went nuts, haha. In the DVD special features he pretty much admits that it's a fanboy film, he's paying homage to all the action/adventure movies he loved when he was growing up (i.e. the "Mad Max" series, "Escape From New York," "Aliens," etc.).

Watched that too and felt the same way about it. And you gotta love that title. No way anyone would ask you what it's about after you tell them the name.
