- ^^Agreed. I figured the effects and ideas were going to be conveyed in some poorly shot, half-ass method like the zillion other shock flicks out there. Nope. Dude knows how to direct. Well-timed shots, great use of framing, better-than-average acting for this type of thing, realistic effects, and a gripping story arc. It just makes all the subject that much more disarming.
I've heard his claims to the movie being an allegory and I gotta say, with an understanding of Serbia's gonzo politics and turmoil, that actually makes sense. Problem is, when scene after scene is so offensive in nature the allegory gets overshadowed by the overwhelming shock. So it doesn't quite work. ...And there's actual character development in the first half hour of the movie. You actually understand the motivation for Milos and sympathize with his family. That just makes what follows even harder to take. Yeah the ending tore me to shreds because of this.

| I watched the hockey game between Detroit and Boston tonight.
I think that might be the most exciting game with a final score of 1-0 I have ever watched. I prefer games with scores like 6-5 and 7-5, and with at least one fight thrown in there. This had only one goal, and no fights at all. But there were plenty of awesome plays and great saves in there, and it was a fast paced game, considering only one goal was scored, and that goal wasn't even scored until there was only three minutes and one second left in the third period.

| Bad Biology
Latest entry from Frank "Basket Case" Hennenlotter, Bad FX and acting abound in this mostly plotless film about a woman with 7 clitorises (clitori?) who meets a guy with a giant penis that has a mind of its own. Hilarity ensues. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Bad Milo! Man, this was both weird and kind of endearing/heartwarming. Some surprisingly recognizable faces in the cast, as well. - Spoiler:
A colon-dwelling roughly penis-shaped parasite/brother that has your best interest in mind. If that sounds good to you, watch this! This reminded me loosely of that X-Files episode where that circus-freak guy had a conjoined twin who lived in his stomach, but hated his alcoholic brother.

| Cardinals vs. Nationals
Washington had left 15 men on base before finally cashing one in in the bottom of the 9th to salvage a split with my Cardinals. Our bullpen has been really suspect so far this year. Next up are the Mets. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Saw "Transcendence". If you have never seen any film that rehashes the "organic life forms are saints and technology is inherently evil" angle, then I guess go ahead and see this one. If you're a seasoned science fiction fan, do not waste the money. Intelligence insulted on many levels tonight. Ah, well. | |

| Finished A Serbian Film. Once you already know where it's going, it loses some of its impact. What's interesting about my copy is that yellow "X" that pops up in the lower right corner for scenes that were removed from the UK cut. After the first 45 minutes, that "X" shows up A LOT. I understand some of the scenes that were cut but some seem pretty innocuous. Not to mention that with all those cuts I don't know how the censored version of the film could possibly make any sense. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
