I picked up a 6pk of that last night because my fellow beer snob buddy at work was raving about it and I swear it's not the same recipe they had back in September. This batch is really good! it is really good. _________________

| "It's the most wonderful t-I-I-I-me of the year..." Picked up a 6pk of this and behind it some leftover Pumpkin Ale. I swear the later batches of the pumpkin ale did not use the same recipe as the stuff that was out in September. The later Schlafly Pumpkin Ale tastes more like it did 2 years ago. Haven't tried this year's version of the Christmas Ale yet but I've got some chillin' in the fridge now. I'll report back.... EDIT: This year's version of Schlafly's Christmas Ale is as good as last year's. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Just picked up another 6er of Schlafly's Christmas Ale as well as this year's Sam Adams Winter Sampler pack. I'm bummed they replaced the Chocolate Bock in the SA pack with Chocolate Cherry Bock. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Too much other shit cutting into my valuable drinking time.... Fear not, the holidays are coming, and being in close proximity with my extended family always brings out my inner alcoholic; so I'll make up for the lost time. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Was at Save Mart and it looks like they cut down on their supply. Too late to get to BevMo. So I picked up New Belgium's winter IPA. It was the only other holiday brew besides Sierra Nevada's Celebration and Sam Adams' Winter Lager, both which I've tried. I really wanted something new. The NB is a great recipe, but I'm really IPA'd out, as all I've bought this year are mostly NB which specializes in IPA's.
Anyway...I've been in the mood for a good strong porter or stout with a festive twist. Any recommendations?

| If you can find it, Southern Tier's Choklat will soon be coming out. It's a black stout made with semi-sweet chocolate. Have you tried New Belgium's "1554"? It's a good black lager. This time of year most of the seasonals are either IPAs or Belgians. I picked up a bottle of St. Bernardus Christmas Ale; it's their Belgian ale with spices added.
Or try the Sam Adams Winter Variety pack. The only one in there that I didn't like was the Juniper IPA (naturally). There's an ale called "Old Fezziwig" that's part of the collection that is great but unfortunately I've yet to see it available in a six pack. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Deschutes Black Butte Porter is always a good fall back. I'm guessing they have it in Cali though it's not really festive. | |

The Sam Adams winter pack is a standard here every year, love that Fezzwig. I'll look for the Choklat and DH's recommendation here. Gonna hit the BevMo this weekend to load up.
