I loved "Tucker & Dale." esp. when the guy fell in the wood chipper and all Tucker could say was, "HEY! ARE YOU OK??" Laughing very hard

Tucker & Dale was amazingly funny, right up my alley. The unconventional love story was neat as well.

So this is cool. As I said recently, I really dug the electronic score to The Terror Within. The composer's name is Rick Conrad and scored some Corman flicks up until 1993. Using my saturday morning detective skills, I was able to trace him to a securities venture that he is co-founder of, and emailed him. Lo and behold, he agreed to an interview. The man has seen some rough times and has a lot of insight into the freelance scoring business of the 80's. Pretty stressful stuff and he even went homeless at one point. Also he's given me the contact for a guy who owns the masters to the soundtrack I'm wanting. Obviously it was never released since b-movie soundtrack rarely sold. I'll post the interview when it's done (we're approaching it as a series) over in Let the Music Do the Talking in case anyone is interested.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed it. But once they got past the whole series of "misunderstandings", and it was just a plain old "psycho killer after 2 innocent folks", it got a little boring for me.

I'm not a big horror movie fan in general, but I'd settle for a decent horror/comedy. It was good enough to put me in a Halloween mood for the evening. If it wasn't for the discussion here, I wouldn't have even known about it. The chick from '30 Rock' is super hot, so that helped too.

I sort of agree with you. It was pretty funny for the first hour or so but then it just sort of became a run-of-the-mill psycho stalking people movie. I still enjoyed it a lot but I understand what you're saying.

Walking Dead
Finished up Season 2 of Continuum (Netflix) - EXCELLENT second season, much better than the first. This is turning out to be a very good show.... and it's going to be a LONG wait until season three after the cliff hanger!

Chronologically Lost.

http://www.chronologicallylost.com

Somebody (with way too much time on their hands) went through LOST and re-edited into chronological order. I hate to think about how much of a pain in the ass that must have been but I salute his effort.

While it would make zero sense if you never watched the series, for those that have seen the entire thing it's a fun, alternate way of experiencing it.

Episode #3 of "American Horror Story: Coven."

Wow. Incest AND minotaur sex? I wanna know how they're going to top this one in terms of twisted weirdness.

My annual Schlock-Tober marathon isn't complete without a viewing of this one...

City of the Walking Dead aka Nightmare City (1980)

A radioactive spill turns city inhabitants into bloodthirsty mutant zombie something-or-others that can drive cars, fly airplanes (!!) and use knives and guns in this hilarious no-budget Spanish/Italian 'Dawn of the Dead' wanna be that features all the hallmarks of truly great Eurotrash grindhouse cinema - cheap/bizarre makeup, plentiful (but phony looking) gore, awkward dialogue, atrocious dubbing, and numerous plot holes covered up by non-stop ridiculous action sequences.

Seriously folks, this is the best Z-movie EVER made. It sucks, but I never get tired of watching it!!

When that jar burst in the fire I couldn't help myself, I yelled out "SOUP's ON!" and my wife went "EWWWWWW!" Laughing very hard

Also: for some reason I laughed like hell when Angela Bassett referred to it as "Baby gravy" in that creole voodoo-woman accent. It sounded hilarious. "Baaaaay-beh gray-veh." Laughing very hard

Well since the World Series has a day off today I just might pop this sucker in. If I do I'll report back; probably won't be in 90 minutes though. Watch this space...

Two words...it sucks!

Now I know why I never watched Nightmare City; because it's lame! Other than the fact that it offers the prototype for fast-moving zombies, I can't think of a single reason to recommend this film. Hell, it isn't even very gory

Serpent and the Rainbow. Finally.

Wes Craven strikes out again. Some surreal visions at the climax can't make up for this film's plodding, generic, and bland nature about voodoo (loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooseley based on a true story). To top it off, I had no idea that Bill Pullman was a bad actor at one time, although I'm only familiar with his work as the president in ID4. Here he's whiny, cocky, and one-dimensional--not just with his character but his skill as well. This is just more of the same from Craven the Hack. Flat shooting, bald photography, uneven tonality, awkward conversation, a rainfall of deus ex machina, and absolutely no tension to speak of. Still have Deadly Blessing, Hills Have Eyes, and the final three Scream flicks to go through, but so far I'm convinced that Craven is a one-trick pony with too much credit to his name. Hell, Tobe Hooper has a better resume.
