Lol well he gave me a deal I couldn't refuse, plus my wife is a fan of that and A Kind of Magic, which I abhor. But hey, it's Queen, gotta have 'em all.

Yeah, I'm getting confused in my old age (plus later Queen is a bit of a Best Of kinda thing) it's The Game that I don't really like. Jazz has two of my favorite Queen songs (Fat Bottom Girls, and Don't Stop Me Now)
So I'm not nuts, I just don't listen to Queen often enough

I honestly haven't heard much of Jazz apart from the hits, so I have no opinion yet. The Game is simply awesome!

Weird band for me, I've always loved the early albums but I always felt that things went a bit flat in that very late 70's very early 80's period when Freddie and John were bringing in disco and funk into the mix. I absolutely hated The Works and refused to listen to it and had that attitude for most of the 80's as I was on my thrash kick. It wasn't really until Innuendo and Freddie's death that I started to love Queen again and I started to realise that they had done a lot of great stuff in the 80's too, but if I had to pick my least favorite period it's The Game/Hot Space. I like Queen to be a big pompous slightly silly but brilliant rock band.

Queen were awesome at mixing in the funk elements, I mean c'mon, Another One Bites The Dust was a hit on the R&B charts in addition to the Rock charts...that's pretty rare for a band of white Brits.
Dragon Attack is one of my favorite Queen songs, John Deacon was all over The Game laying down some killer bass.
There are a few filler tunes on The Game but most of the record holds up quite nicely.
The only Queen albums I really don't like are Hot Space and The Miracle.

I consider Collective Soul to be one of my "guilty pleasure" bands. They've had so many hits and were plastered across radio for so long that I should hate them.
But I have every album. And I saw them live at Toad's Place in New Haven when they were touring behind the "Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid" album. Good Lord they were loud and heavy! Not at all what I was expecting.

I own and really like the first two Collective Soul albums, then I just lost track of them.
How are their other albums compared to those two?

I have a bunch of Collective Soul's CD5s that have live and acoustic tracks. I would immediately buy a whole album of either.
Eyesore just sold another copy of that Collision record. I was ordering as soon as I heard that opening bass line.
