Favorite 2013 album releases

Same here because so far nothing new has really rocked my world.

Compared to 2012 this year has been fairly lackluster, hopefully the second half of the year will see an improvement.

I can find 10 records I really like in any given year

X3... I've gotten lots of great stuff this year.

I'm going to add Havok and Age Of Taurus to my previous list. I'm looking forward to new releases by Alcest, Exhumed, Revocation, Pallbearer, and the debut from Twilight Of The Gods.

The current contender for best album of 2013 for me:

I'm really looking forward to Kayo Dot's new album, Hubardo. I'm sure it'll be up there with the other albums on my list.

The only ones I have so far:

Battle Beast - Battle Beast
Saxon - Sacrifice
Pink Cream 69 - Ceremonial
Timo Tolkki's Avalon - The Land of New Hope
Avantasia - The Mystery of Time
Helloween - Straight out of Hell
H.I.M. - Tears of Tape

Right now, out of those, I'd say Battle Beast is the one that's hitting me hardest. But Helloween is real good, too.

But that's just for now. There's still a Mystic Prophecy album coming out soon.

Pinnick Gales Pridgen - s/t
Queensryche - s/t
Orchid - Mouths of Madness
Andrew Stockdale - Keep Moving
Uncle Acid - Mind Control

There are probably a few others that the jury is still out on (Tom Keifer, Riverside, Cauldron) and a couple more that I haven't got yet (Newsted, Horisont, The Answer). We'll see how things take shape by the end of the year.

Not sure where I will end up at the end of the year, but Queensryche, Sabbath, Megadeth, Deep Purple are up there. Need to get that new Uncle Acid and the new Trouble. Like what I heard from Dream Theater and Fates Warning - really looking forward to those! I really like Scorpion Child - great album!

That one didn't grab me as much as I expected it to. Not bad at all, but I doubt it will make my top 10 for the year. More likely an "honorable mention". Same with Tom Keifer's album. I like it well enough, but don't love it.

Scorpion Child didn't do it for me either.

Still finding myself warming up to Helloween; it's not really blowing me away but it's good. Same with Ryche. Otherwise, it's been a good year!

Album of the year so far is between Sabbath and Haken.

"Life sentence! 28 years!"  

I'm definitely not finalising any list until I've heard the new Alcest & Horisont

2013 has been a fantastic year! I'm gonna struggle to keep it down to ten.

Annihilator's Feast. God. Damn it. Tell me I'm not the only one banging my head into a coma to this.
