he did say "to him"
I watched the Maiden "En Vivo" concert on AXS TV last night and fell asleep. The interesting part was seeing Dave play a Les Paul on a few tunes. Is "Talisman" from "The Final Frontier" ? I was interested more by the songs unfamilar to me than the older ones they played before I crashed out. (was it due to be being tired or boredom...who knows) They hacked both "Two Minutes To Midnight" and "The Trooper" (IMHDO)
Back to MegaDave....

I'm gonna dig SC as I knew I would. My fave band covering my other fave band in "Cold Sweat" is rad!

"Cold Sweat" should be on the Banned—Do Not Cover! list

Sounds like it should be a good album - the sound quality on those samples sound like they were recorded on a mini-cassette with the songs being played though an Emerson boom box in a bathroom that has tile floors and tile walls.

Sounds like Dave just recorded the samples from Amazon while on the road, probably with a phone. You can hear what is probably the tour bus cruisin' down the highway in between clips.

There's an App for that.
I thought you would just refer to that sound as a 'Kevin Shirley Mix"

That's a different App. It is designed to only have midrange in your recordings, no low end or high end, just all midrange and to boost all the wrong frequencies. I'm convinced that inside Shirley's head the world sounds like a 1973 Volkswagen AM radio.

You just lit a fire underneath my curiosity. Is that why most of what I've heard of albums he's produced sound kind of...blah?

Lol
I like kingmaker and super collider has really grown on me (mostly of Dave Jr's bass)
And the vid with all the short clips assure me this will be another solid rockin album. It doesn't sound amazing but it will still satisfy this fanboy. That short clip of thin lizzy's "cold sweat sounded pretty kickass too

Amazon has a listing for a deluxe version of Super Collider with bonus tracks, but doesn't give any additional information.
Anyone know what the bonus tracks are?
EDIT: Nevermind. According to their website, Best Buy will have an exclusive deluxe edition with 3 bonus tracks for $13.99...
1. Kingmaker 2. Super Collider 3. Burn! 4. Built For War 5. Off The Edge 6. Dance In The Rain 7. The Beginning Of Sorrow 8. The Blackest Crow 9. Forget To Remember 10. Don't Turn Your Back... 11. Cold Sweat _______________________
12. A House Divided [New Studio Track] 13. All I Want [New Studio Track] 14. Symphony of Destruction [Live from Pomona]

The album has leaked and it's not good news. "Worst Megadeth since World Needs A Hero." "Makes Thirteen sounds good." "One song even features a banjo. Egads."
(I have not heard the album, but that's what I am reading around the internets.)

I'm gonna reserve judgment until I hear it. At any rate, my opinions on megadeth are not always typical. I didn't care for endgame, while I liked thirteen. I also think cryptic writings is one of their best albums. I might hate the new one, but I'll probably buy it as soon as it comes out.

I thought Thirteen sucked, but I really like Cryptic Writings. I will still get Super Collider and judge it for myself. I just don't have a good feeling about this one.

Yeah, I'd be lying if I said I was super hopeful. But dang it, I want to believe it will be good!

For whatever odd reason I became excited when I read the word "banjo."

There are so many bozos and wanna-be music critics out there on the "internets" that I don't even pay any attention any longer. I listen to the album myself and make up my own mind.
