| The Revoltons (they were a Euro-power metal band but the name sounds like a punk band) Edguy Spock's Beard Mago De Oz (cool sounding until you translate it "The Wizard Of Oz") MullMuzzler Strapping Young Lad

| Thin Lizzy is a great band name. A variation on Tin Lizzy as seen below... |

Wasn't it the name of a spy plane that was shot down over Russia? _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| They stilll fly those babies too (as Ripley would say "believe it or not") An AFB by my old stomping grounds in No. Calif had a squadron. One of those planes that look really awkward on the ground. Which of course is not their natural element. I remember reading about Francis Gary Powers in school back in the 70's _________________ | |

Awesome band; horrible name. Perfect for this thread. Good call! This may be the ultimate example.

I think that's a cool name. It's a mispelling of a German tank called Jagdpanzer which translates into 'hunting tank'. What better name for a metal band than a giant piece of destructive metal.

| I kinda always dug the name Crumbsuckers (and Lawnmower Deth too). Just felt it fit what they were going for.
I used to think Helloween was kind of a goofy name but then just got used to and now think it is actually a pretty great name for a band. Probably a lot of band names I've just gotten used to and don't even give them a second thought anymore.

Along with:
Saigon Kick I avoided this band for a looooong because of their name, that "Love Is On The Way" song and(at the time) they were opening for Firehouse. Then I heard the song "One Step Closer". Now I dig 'em and have the first three albums.
