"Soylent Green" (1973)
'70s sci-fi that depicts 21st century America as an overpopulated, impoverished dystopia. Charlton Heston is a New York cop investigating the murder of a corporate big wig, which leads him to a shocking discovery about the company's latest food product...a mysterious "wafer" called "Soylent Green."
Say it with me, folks:
Spoiler:
"IT'S PEOPLE! SOYLENT GREEN IS MADE OUTTA PEOPLE!"
Heston is hammy as usual but his over the top performance is balanced out by acting legend Edward G. Robinson (in his final role)'s dignified turn as a grizzled police researcher who remembers the way the world "used to be."
Somewhat cheap looking and dated nowadays but still fun in a retro sort of way.

Supergirl- I hate to admit it but I enjoyed a few things about the movie even if overall the movie is a dreadful mess for the most part.

Winter's Bone (2010)
Unrelentingly grim and powerful tale about a teenage girl that has to hunt for her meth-cooking father through the Ozarks to keep her home from being taken by bail bondsmen. Powerful, Oscar-nominated performance by Jennifer Lawrence (who was 19 when the film was made). Hard to watch but rewards the effort.

"Hellboy II: The Golden Army" (2007)
Ron Perlman returns as the Dark Horse Comics character in a sequel that's even more elaborate -- and wackier - than the original (which is really sayin' something!). This time Hellboy and his freaky friends must stop a representative of an ancient Elf race from breaking a centuries-old truce between mankind and the creatures of the underworld that could lead to all-out war.
Great special effects, bizarre story, funny as hell. Not sure if I liked it better than the first flick but it's definitely worth seeing. So when's "Hellboy III?" I'm on board.

I preferred the H.P. Lovecraft vibe of the first Hellboy to the "fantasy" vibe of the second, but still think both films were very enjoyable. A Hellboy III is planned though no confirmation on when they will start working on it.

Lock Up: Raw: Why I watch documentaries on a place I stive not to ever go to, I don't know. It does get a bit depressing after a while, but it's interesting to see what goes on.

The Lovely Bones
Little known thriller/fantasy flick from Peter Jackson. I didn't even know about it, despite the fact that it received an Academy Award nomination.i just happened to stumble across it when it aired on TV last Christmas. I tivoed it, and finally got to see it today.
If you are familiar with Frighteners and Heavenly Creatures, you have an idea of what to expect. I recommend it.

I liked this one better than the first one because there were more monsters. I'd be on board for a HB III too!

Finished Red Dwarf X: Mixed feelings. While I think they did well by going back to the more simplistic look, the actors ages are definitly showing. However, with lighting and make-up they are consealing them fairly well at times. Except Kryten who has major bags under his eyes. Not even the make-up and prostheteics can hide them. Still very funny and some of the episodes could definatly become RD classics (especially the one where they encounter Jesus).

"Pandorum" (2009)
Lukewarm sci-fi psychological thriller that borrows a lot from "Alien," "Event Horizon" and maybe even a little "Predator," but naturally isn't as good as any of those.
In the future, a pair of interstellar travelers on a massive space ship awaken from their cryogenic sleep unexpectedly - and can't remember who they are, why they're on the ship or where they were supposed to be going. As they explore the seemingly-deserted ship, they soon learn they're not alone.
Cool concept and great set design but gets kinda monotonous after a while because three quarters of the movie are just characters running scared down corridors and through access tunnels.
Forgettable at best.
