"Catwoman" (2004)
This notorious box office bomb made the strange choice of taking a well-loved comic book character with more than 50+ years of back story ...and throwing it all completely out the window in favor of a totally "new," totally WTF origin story. Halle Berry is a schlumpy cosmetics-company employee who gets killed after finding out a dangerous secret about her bosses' latest product. Fortunately, she doesn't stay dead for long. After becoming the reincarnation of some sorta Egyptian Cat God (don't ask), she transforms into a ghetto-fabulous, bull whip totin, ass kickin', tuna fish eatin' superheroine, and sets off to stop the cougar-iffic villainess Sharon Stone from poisoning the women of the world with a toxic blend of face cream. Yeah, I know.... say what?
The ludicrous story, cardboard characters, cheap CGI-assisted stunts, and massive amounts of scenery chewing by both Berry and Stone combine to make "Catwoman" into an unintentional comedy of the highest order. If you're a bad-movie masochist like me, check this one out and prepare for a total hoot.

Finishing up:
By this time the show started getting stale but is still enjoyable. The Krisitne character is quite annoying and you really miss Arnold's cowardace, however, the actress is a mark improvement in looks on the origional Kristine who IMO was barely even cute (but still better than a woman "with thin whispy beard who wears three overcoats and carries little bags with string").

Started "2001: A Space Odyssey" last night... started getting dozy 'round the time they jumped forward 18 months to the "Jupiter Mission" -- so I'll finish it tonight

Saw it earlier today - I thought it was good, but not great. Script needed some work and it would have been a better flick with a better director.

The Haunting (1963, Robert Wise)
One of my favorites, this ultra-stylish chiller from Robert Wise has been dissected and borrowed by just about every horror filmmaker of the past 45 years. Sam Raimi re-used entire sections in Evil Dead I & 2. Beautiful B&W widescreen cinematography perfectly captures the overall sense of dread.

"2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968)
Stanley Kubrick's classic sci-fi headf*ck takes the viewer on a "trip" (in every sense of the word) from the Dawn of Man to the future of humankind, guided by a mysterious alien black stone monolith. Or something like that. Seriously, "2001" is still an impressive feast for the eyes (the visual effects still beat the pants off of a lotta movies being made today) but the "story" is a pretentious muddle. Just enjoy the visuals and don't bother trying to follow it.

Yeah I've seen 2001 multiple times and while I appreciate the individual sections I have never understood the story as a whole.

2001 is near the top of my "favorite films of all-time" list, it is my favorite sci-fi film.
