Likewise. And I actually like Motley more now than I did back in the day. I've already bought my tickets for "The Tour" in Tampa. Can't wait.
I've always like Motley, got really into them when those remasters came out ('98?)... they blew me away when I saw them live for the first time on the Carnival of Sins tour and again on the first Crue Fest. People like to knock them but they're just towing the line without actually paying attention to their music & live show. Great band that has done a great job at remaining relevant and updating their sound when, on paper, it never should've turned out that way!

In the beginning, I was a big fan of Too Fast For Love and Shout At The Devil, my first Crue concert. Then they released Theater Of Pain. For me, this was a disappointing follow up to Shout, but I still kind of liked it and actually saw them again on this tour with Loudness opening the show. Later, a friend of mine gave me a copy of Girls Girls Girls, but by this time I wasn't really into them anymore. But now I'm back! I thought SOLA was excellent and I'm really looking forward to the new album. Nikki Sixx is actually one of my favorite artists.

Saints of Los Angeles is every bit as good as Shout at the Devil, IMO.

Yeah, I saw that..... How many performance clips of Rock And Roll All Nite are there now after that performance of it?????
In the "that's weird" category, Steel Panther was also on the same show:

KISS did 'Lick It Up' on Dancing with the Stars...
As well as the old stand-by, RnR All Night. Nice to see them mix it up a little, doing something from the non-makeup years.

So Monster is supposedly being released in June, with it's first single to be released some time in May (according to Eric Singer), yet we still haven't got a track-listing or seen the album artwork? What's up with that?

As I sit hear listening to Psycho Circus, I have to say it's not as bad as I remembered it initially. Sure, there's a clunker or 2 on there, but it's pretty good actually.

I like 1/2 of it. Personally, I think they hired the wrong producer who in turn picked the wrong songs to be on the album (see the songs that have been released as B-sides and on the KISS box set)
It gets a lot of hate because 1) The Producer 2) Peter and Ace only played on one song 3) It wasn't a true reunion record

Psycho Circus is 50% good stuff and 50% godawful filler. "I Finally Found My Way" (aka "Beth Part II: Electric Boogaloo") is one of the worst KISS songs ever.

When Psycho Circus came out I was really exited and I remember liking the album alot, over time I still like the album but not as much as I once did.
The title track still smokes, and IMO 'Into the Void' should have been released as a single.
'Raise Your Glasses' which is OK tries to hard to be 'Shout it Out Loud'
I like the album and when I spin it, I do enjoy it, but I think if maybe they had gotten a different producer, or treated Bruce Fairbairn produced like he did AC/DC, in the service of the artist, not the other way around it would have been a better album.
Also the album could have used more involvement from Space Ace.

Totally agree on I Finally Found My Way. For me that's the worst song ever done by the band. The rest of the album is pretty good, but looking back on it now,it certainly seems like a paint by numbers album. Good but could have been oh so much better.

Ace TRIED to be more involved. Gave them a bunch of songs and they chose only that one. Into the Void is also the ONLY song on the album that features all four KISS members playing their respective instruments and the only song to feature Peter Criss on the drums. Apparently the song originally had different lyrics as well, but the producer wanted some space theme to go with Ace's character. There were several harder rocking songs that were left off the album, later released as b-sides or in the box set. It could have been a MUCH better album with a different producer who was willing to work with the four band members rather than using outside writers and outside musicians. Eddie Kramer would have been a good choice IMO.

Agree - Bob Ezrin was originally lined up as producer but backed out, instead just contributing "Beth II - The Electric Boogaloo", but Eddie Kramer would have been a better choice.
If memory serves correctly, didn't some of Ace's reject songs end up on Anomoly?

Eddie Kramer would have been a great choice but since 1997, he has been busy archiving, remastering, and retooling the massive studio and live recordings from Jimi Hendrix's estate, which he has been overseeing (and doing an excellent job) so doubtful he was available, plus Fairbairn at this point had an excellent track record with a series of platinum albums from AC/DC, Bon Jovi, and Aerosmith, so I am sure that alone took precedent over artistic merits another producer may have brought into the project.

Paul Stanley should have produced it by himself. He always does a good job.

Last I heard, the release of the new KISS album has been delayed till Fall of this year. Dang! I had figured it would be out in time for the tour w/the Crue this Summer so they'd have something new to pimp whilst on the road.

I read that it's looking like October. They are thinking about debuting a couple new songs on their summer tour.

Just in time for a Halloween tie-in with a major retailer, no doubt?

A cross-promotional tie-in with Depends Undergarments. Get your adult diapers emblazoned with likenesses of Gene, Paul...and whatever faceless tools they have wearing the old Ace & Peter makeup. Betty White will introduce them on tour.
