Gene looks better bald. Like Daddy Warbucks or something. Better than that terrible wig he sports on his tv show.

All the whoop-de-doo about the new KISS single, album, tour, and absurdly overpriced new merch inspired my newest blog entry...

That song was great. I like the intensity to it. Tommy does a great Ace impersonation with the solo too.

I like it - sounds like a mix of 70's KISS with Lick It Up/Animalize

Ace impersonation? Tommy sounds nothing like Ace in this song. If anything, he sounds closer to Bob Kulick's playing on the Alive II studio tracks.

Have to disagree - very much an Ace inspired solo

Really awesome tune !
If the rest of the album is even remotely close to that one song, then KISS will have another great album to add to their discography; a monster release, if you will

Yea...poor choice of words on my part. Inspired is the correct word.
And Megatron, Ace immediately came to mind after hearing the solo. However, I can see the comparison to Bob's playing on Alive II.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Bob supposed to "sound" like Ace to make it seem like he played those songs?

That's true. Ace was credited for lead guitar on the studio tracks until the 1997 remaster. Ace did contribute to Rocket Ride, but he didn't record the KISS version.

And just to stoke the fires of hype a little more, KISS unveiled their ridiculously expensive new coffee-table volume, the KISS Monster Book, in London today.
The price of this limited edition collectible? $4,250. That's not a typo, folks. FOUR THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS. Uhhhh, yeah, I think I'll pass. Damn, and I thought the $158.95 price tag for the KISSTORY book was a ripoff back in the 90s!!
Press conference footage:
(Random observation: Why did the media even bother putting microphones in front of Singer and Thayer during this press conference? Did they really expect either of them to have anything to say?)

Back in 1977, I noticed that "ACE" had changed his guitar tone considerably on "Larger Than Life" and then it magically reappeared on his solo lp. Go figure

I listened to the new song, it's okay I guess (though the main riff immediately reminded me of Deep Purple's "Burn") but nothing impressive enough for me to go out and put more money in Gene and Paul's pockets.
If Ace was involved it might be a different story...maybe.
