Yep. Kinda lame! Paul's my fave. Oh well, at least I was the one who got him...

I wonder who's gonna sell more ornaments -- KISS or Elvis? Misfit, keep an eye on the supply in your store and let us know who's winning!

Further proof that I'm an utter KISS geek (as if you needed further proof?)... just bought these two KISS Xmas tree ornaments at Walgreen's. They only had Gene & Paul, but if they'd had Ace and/or Peter I would've bought them too.
The wife just rolled her eyes when I showed'em to her and sighed, "Whatever..."
I'm sure some of you are going "Oh pleeeeeze" and some others are going "Way cool!" ... for the "Way cool!" crowd, you can find these babies at your local Walgreens' for $5 each. How can you possibly resist?
I need to go by Walgreen's and find these!

Nice! Do Ace & Peter ornaments exist, or are there only Gene & Paul? In "my" store they only had a shelf full of G&P.
Funny you say that. Over the weekend, I was watching SpongeBob with the kids and Kiss in their cartoon form were on there. While the whole band performed, it was only Gene & Paul that actually spoke any lines. Poor Eric & Tommy were mutes.

More KISS related stuff... the kids just watched an episode of the late '70s "Scooby Doo Show" on Boomerang, it took place in and around a recording studio and was called "The Diabolical Disc Demon." The villain of the piece, "The Phantom," looked like the secret love child of Gene Simmons and the Joker!

From their website:
Paul Stanley, founder and front man of the legendary rock band KISS and highly-successful fine artist, and his wife Erin, a Los Angeles attorney, announced today that they are expecting a baby girl in August.
This will be the third child for the legendary Star Child and his wife who married in 2005 and live in Beverly Hills, California with their daughter Sarah Brianna (2), son Colin Michael (4) and son Evan Shane (16) from Stanley’s previous marriage.
“There is nothing greater in life than family, and my accomplishments as a father rank at the top of my successes,” Stanley said. “Erin and I are blessed with our expectation of the addition of another princess to our family and a new member of The KISS Army. I may be 59, but the only rocking chair this rocker is getting ready for is the one for my new baby.”

How would you do on Jeopardy on the KISS category? Personally, I think this category is way too easy:

They did seem a little on the easy side. I did however get the "without make-up" question wrong. I named the album cover too.

Sheesh... if I were ever on Jeopardy, I'd never be lucky enough to get a "gimme" category like that one.

Recording has begun on the new KISS album!
(from Blabbermouth)
PAUL STANLEY: New KISS Album Leaves 'Sonic Boom' In The Dust - Apr. 14, 2011
KISS has officially entered the studio to begin recording the follow-up to 2009's "Sonic Boom" for a late 2011 release.
A video message from KISS guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley can be viewed below.
Said Stanley in the clip: "Wednesday, April 13. We are in the studio again doing the follow-up to 'Sonic Boom'. Today is the first day in the studio. All the gear got set up yesterday. Eric [Singer] is sitting behind the drums feverishly waiting to cut that first track. So history will be made. This album, I'm telling you, everybody agrees, leaves 'Sonic Boom' in the dust. So this is awesome, and you'll be hearing it soon."
In a March 10, 2011 interview with DJ JC Green of Alfa Rock 105.7 FM and Metal Messiah Radio's "Heavy Metal Thunder" program, KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons stated about the forthcoming CD, "The new record, which we already started working on, is gonna be the next step to 'Sonic Boom'. Very similar — straight rock songs, no ballads, no keyboards, no nothing, just rock. . . A lot of the songs [have been] written by the whole band together, so no outside writers, just the band doing what it did on the first three records — writing the songs ourselves." He added, "We have almost all the songs written. In fact, we have too many songs; we have about 20 to 25 things that look and sound good."

I wish Aerosmith (probably a few other bands too) would do this. Sadly, with the recent success of Steven Tyler on AI, I get the sneaking suspicion that the next Aerosmith album will be written with the American Idol demographic in mind and not the long time fans.

I listened to "Sonic Boom" the other day really really LOUD. First time in quite a while that I'd even spun it. Perhaps the most I've enjoyed it since owning it. Reminds me of an old "musicians" joke (term used lightly)... "Hey, do you know anything about addition ?...Add some volume to that "
I am looking forward to some new KISS. Hope they get #1 this time around. THough it doesn't mean the same as it once did.

In other KISS news...(3rd paragraph)
Quote :
Paul Rodgers (BAD COMPANY, FREE, QUEEN) has been added to the list of artists who will contribute versions of songs by Paul McCartney for a new covers album.
THE BEATLES legend is putting together a compilation of his best-known tracks as performed by some of his favorite musicians, including Billy Joel, KISS, THE CURE, Garth Brooks and B.B. King. He has hand-picked the acts he wants to take part in the project and even reportedly arranged for his son James to duet on THE CURE's contribution to the record.
KISS recorded a version of "Venus And Mars/Rock Show" for the set, with the backing tracks all having been recorded by Paul McCartney's touring band. KISS said in a statement, "We consider it an honor to be asked to participate on a tribute to one of the most influential and greatest singer/songwriters of all time. Not to mention, a major force in the most important band of all time, THE BEATLES. Wow!"
Does that last part make any sense...

So I guess that means Gene and Paul (?) just sing on the track, with Paul Mac's band providing the music. Right?
