I actually liked 'Psycho Circus' too. With exception of that Peter Criss track, the rest is pretty good. I also remembered following the 'Psycho Circus' comics as a grade-schooler.
'Hot in the Shade' is my least favorite. I couldn't sit through it without wincing. =/ 'Carnival of Souls' baffles me, it just sounded very strange to me...

I'm going to the Cobo show in Detroit on 9/25!!! I just bought tickets, I don't care about the price (even though they weren't as much as I thought they'd be) because I got screwed over the first time I bought tickets to see them when they canceled the show.
They'll be playing Alive in it's entirety!

Sweet. No matter what someone thinks about the replacement members, no one can deny that the whole band sounds great live.

They've added a second show @ Cobo Hall since the first one sold out in milliseconds... and as Misfit sez, they will be playing the "ALIVE!" album in its entirety.
Sounds sweet.

Other than your #5 I couldn't possibly disgree more. Wow...Psycho Circus is such a fantastic, uplifting album.
I like all the albums in that list. In fact, Asylum is one of my favorites. King of the Mountain, Tears Are Falling, Who Want's to Be Lonely, Trial by Fire, are all classic KISS IMO.
Hot in the Shade has it's moments and good songs. It would probably be better if they had chosen the best 10-12 tracks and taken off some of the filler.
Carnival of Souls is a heavy rock and roll record. Has a sort of grungy feel, but still sounds like Kiss. Paul Stanley sounds great on this record IMO.
Psycho Circus could have been better, but I like several tracks on it. I think that Kiss were trying a bit too hard to jump on the Aerosmith pop-rock bandwagon here. Still, the title track, Raise Your Glasses and Into the Void are great.
I'd pick Crazy Nights as my least favorite KISS album. It's pretty weak for a KISS record IMO, but even it has some songs I like quite a bit.

In Oct both Alice Cooper and KISS will be hitting Tampa around the same time, now I have to make a decision who to see, only have enough funds for one artist.

Ex-Kiss guitarist Frehley’s album, Anomaly, goes on sale on September 15, while Sonic Boom comes out on October 6.
Classic Rock asked Stanley this week whether he regarded the timing as unfortunate.
Stanley replied: “For who? Look, it’s a hard one for me to answer. This album took us months to do, that album from what I understand took Ace 15 or 20 years to do.
“I can’t say anything about the timing or the release schedule or what have you – I truly, always go back to: I hope Ace is happy, and I think it’s terrific that he’s alive. Anything else past that is a bonus. I wish him well.”
I like Ace, but this is still funny.
Anyway, I think both releases will help each other. Certainly Ace is going to get more mileage out of the timing than KISS will though.

Well, they were playing a big classic rock festival just 16 miles from where I lived. The problem was that I had some very important exams the next day and KISS were headlining the festival...

I didn't realize Buckcherry was doing the whole tour. That's even better news for me! I thought it was only KISS at Cobo.
Is the entire Alive 35 tour the band playing all of ALIVE?

WAL-MART Stores To Unveil 'Kiss Korners' In October - Sep. 3, 2009
KISS fans ready for the new "Sonic Boom" CD/DVD release October 6 can own a piece of KISStory when Wal-Mart stores unveil "KISS Korners" in electronics departments and Halloween aisles in October. Stores will offer in special areas KISS T-shirts, wigs, makeup, limited edition KISS M&M candies, and even KISS Mr. Potato Head spuds of all four band members through Halloween.
For Detroit City Rockers and beyond, the exclusive KISS CD/DVD package, "Sonic Boom", and KISS kollectibles will be available in all Wal-Mart stores nationwide. Select items, including the MP3 digital album, will be available at Walmart.com. Pre-orders for the new three-disc set are currently available at www.walmart.com/kiss for $12.
Items will arrive upon the Oct. 6 release and include:
* KISS "Sonic Boom" CD/DVD package - $12 * KISS T-shirts - $5 * Four select KISS Mr. Potato Head kollectibles (The Demon, The Spaceman, The Catman and The Starchild) - $10 * KISS fleece blanket - $10 * KISS M&M candies (7 oz. bags - Limited Edition) - $6 * KISS catalog CDs such as "Dressed to Kill", "Destroyer", "Love Gun" and "Very Best of Kiss" — $5 - $9 * KISS makeup kits, masks and wigs (select Wal-Mart stores*) - $5
"To complement this highly-anticipated music release, we are excited to bring a unique store experience with KISS merchandise at an unbeatable value for fans of all ages," said Greg Hall, vice president of Media Services, Wal-Mart U.S. "It has been both fun and an honor to work with the band and celebrate with fans the new music release and album tour."

Coincidentally, Ace released Trouble Walkin' at about the same time Hot in the Shade was released, and he covered Hide Your Heart. I always thought that was kind of strange, but I like both albums.

Somebody compiled all the 30 second clips of each SONIC BOOM track off of Wal-Mart's web site and put'em on YouTube. Check'em out, sounds pretty bad ass to me!
