You see, THAT is a great beer! Forget about beer tasting chocolate, creem or pumkin, it's supposed to taste like beer!
I'm binging tonight with a couple of friends. Not sure what I'm gonna drink, except the 2 Borg Bokkøl I've leftover after Christmas. But I assure you, it's all gonna taste BEER!!
Here is what I'm drinking:
I don't only drink beers brewed with other flavors but I do admit I prefer them. I still like my Belgians however and that's just beer. And I just lucked into 2 bombers of Schlafly's Russian Imperial Stout (circa 2011) at the grocery store today. That's my favorite RIS especially after it's had time to age. These 2 bottles are already "pre-aged" which is great because the ones I have aging in my "beer cellar" are from 2012. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Only a few Belgian style beers but only Blue Moon and a pale one and only one oatmeal stout (blueberry oatmeal stout) so I settled for this: Well, this turned out great. Probably one of the best beers I ever had. It is only a seasonal one so if I can find this sold near my home, I may have to stock up. It is not a real sweet beer, just a small hint of vanilla flavor, but not bitter in the least to me. | |

Avoid Blue Moon like the plague and if that Blueberry Oatmeal stout was the same one I had (Buffalo Bill's) you made a great decision. I haven't had that Leinie but that sounds like a good one to me. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Sound the trumpets! Get ready to write this down in the history books! I have found a stout I actually enjoy. Not just stomach it but literally love it: Glad it worked out as a pint (550 ml) of this cost $4. It is highly thought of on Beer Advocate: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/113/571 | |

| I'm getting a tad drunk today. After that delicious oatmeal stout I decided to try the milk one again to see how I could handle it. While it was still too bitter, I drank it down with some mega stuff oreos and chocolate chip brownies. Now to end my beer drinking night I went back to my vanilla porter to end with a beer I enjoy. | |

BTW, if you see Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout, you might want to give that a try too. I've liked everything I've had from this brewer except their imperial stout. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Hacker Pschorr Hell - not a great beer but compared to the crap of munich beer like Paulaner and Loewenbraeu it's ok...can't hold a candle to Augustiner though (and doesn't come close to the best beer ever, Tegernseer Spezial) | |

| My most recent beer haul: Sadly, I must wait a day or so while I'm waiting for my sinus infection to pass (changes the taste of things and the beer is a bit harsh on my throat). | |

Curious to hear what you think of that Belgian Abbey Ale. That's the "toned down" version brewed for mass consumption so if you don't like it I doubt you'd like Belgians in general. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

My sinus infection is still in effect (dripping and sniffiling whenever I'm up and around) and beer does not taste right. I have a left over steak I wanted to eat with my vanillia porter, I tried the porter and it just wasn't working. Hopefully it clears up in the next day or so and my taste buds get back to normal.

| One of the local cattle ranchers gave me a 6'er of quart bottles with his batch of homebrew.
An aquired tatse and meant to be consumed at room tempature (which I did) I liked the alchohol content. Strong but not over bearing.
The best part was he gave me some high end beef cuts to go with it.
A thank you for dialing in his quads last week. _________________

... , love it! A great tasting beer for sure. Yeah for a mass-produced beer that Abbey Ale is really good. Now to see if you like true Belgians. See if you can find this in either a 4pk or a 22oz bottle. Around here the big bottles are readily available in grocery stores. It's by a Canadian brewery so you should be able to find it. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22/33 _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| That is the only dark beer that the Albertson's 35 miles away slings. I prefer dark beers and here they are as a rare as a Killen cassette tape in Kieth's music collection. _________________ | |
