BTW, several weeks back I bought the Sam Adams Fall Variety pack and that had 2 Latitude 40 IPAs in it. I managed to choke them down but it was a struggle; damn things tasted like tonic water to me.

Next time you can send me those.

I'll have a stout with you, toho. I don't like fizzy, yellow beer either.

I'm a seasonal drinker. I like IPA's more in the Summer and the Dark stuff in the Fall/Winter. Of course I can always cross over.

Except mine is of 2011 vintage. Regardless, this stout is definitely better with some age on it.

It's awesome IMO. Just the right balance of chocolate and the boozy taste of bourbon from the barrel. 10.5 ABV so it's definitely a "sipper".

that looks....AMAZING!

While I like a hoppy beer the dark hopped ones are a strange hybrid to me. Haven't tasted one that really grabbed me. Deschutes makes some good stuff though.

I went to the local Irish pub, Gallagher's. And got about 10 pints of Smithwick's.

Rogue's Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout

My first taste of this one and I'm impressed.

That Rogue is awesome. Sometimes hard to find, even here in the NW but worth hunting down.

Popped the top on the last one of these from the case I bought 2 months ago. Still one of my favorite stouts but unfortunately it's a seasonal.
