Bought a case of this Friday at Lukas Liquor in my old hometown after my local distributor ran out (it's a seasonal). What a deal! Twelve 22oz bombers for about $60 for a beer that BeerAdvocate voters deem "World Class".

Yuengling lager is pretty good; definitely better than your usual fare FF.
drinking grease from cooking out is better than FF's normal fare. Yuengling rocks.

A good lager is but the stereotype is mass produced American lagers and their swill.
yeah - the buds and coors of the world is lousy. I am a Yuengling guy but i am branching out into more stuff - Grolsch and Kronenberg 1664 are two I really enjoy now.

I been off beer for dietary reasons, plus the fact that my fave ale (McEwans) was discontinued in the USA - after like 250 years! I have luck like that with my favorite products. I think McEwans began in like 1786 !
but the other night I tried this Chub Scotch Ale from Colorado and it's the real thing, I wouldn't be surprised if they bought the old McEwans recipe. It's spot on! I literally wept with joy after not having had a "real" beer (to my way of thinking anyway) for three years or so.
Chub's is rated the #1 Scotch Ale by BeerInfo.com, and it deserves it.

Is it Old Chub? I've seen that, it even comes in a can at the specialty beer shop in town.

Not a fan of Belhaven's?? Your post inspired me to pick up a bomber of Moylan's (local brewery) Kiltlifter Ale. It's great stuff, and if you ever see it, you should definitely pick it up and try it. The name "Kiltlifter" says it all!

Yes, Old Chub. Around my house it doesn't have a chance to get "old" though.

All o' y'all PBR haters can bite me.
...that said, I just finished another 24 oz. can of Yuengling Lager. If that store keeps stockin' em, I'll keep drinkin' em.

Believe me... compared to some of the 40 oz. malt liquor swill I used to drink in college, PBR is champagne.

Mickey's, Olde English 800, Crazy Horse, Colt 45, St. Ides... you name it, we tried it.
...If I drank any of those now my liver would probably jump out of my body, run and hide... "YIPE YIPE YIPE YIPE!"

I thought 8 Ball and Old English 800 were the same?
And I had my fair share of those nasty ass malt liquors myself so, I'll drink whatever's on tap, and the cheapest when I go out. Usually at the metal shows out here, PBR is on tap for at least a buck or two less than the other stuff. I have to say it's one of the best cheap beers out there.
Now at home, that's a different story. That stuff doesn't enter the door.
