| Picked up another case of Stone Imperial Russian Stout, 6 more bombers of Gouden Carolus and 4 of something by Southern Tier called Imperial Creme Brulee Stout. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Bought a new one by one of my favorite breweries New Holland.
Unfortunately, "White Hatter" is too hoppy for me. It tries to blend a Belgian White Ale (I love Belgian ales) with an IPA (which I hate).
I bet GrandNational would love this.... _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| So I finally tried Mead and it was too much like a white wine for my taste although the lady serving said there are one's that aren't so dry. | |

I got my wife and I a bottle last year...and yeah, pretty much the same reaction. We liked it because we both like "sweet" stuff, like port, moscoto, etc.

I am also counting the days to when the pumpkin ale will be available. I gotta admit, this sounds disgusting...but seeing how you're so eager for it to come I may look for some. I'm game to try it. I just know all the "berry/flavored" brews and what not I find nasty.

I have yet to taste a "fruity" beer that is good.

I have yet to taste a "fruity" beer that is good. I don't like fruity beers either; at least not ones with fruit flavors added to them. I like the "fruitiness" of Belgians but that comes from the hops not from some actual fruit. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I'm with you but those two have pimped this punkin ale so much I want to try it. Actually, I don't think exact has tasted it yet. But he got to try Schlafly's Christmas Ale last year and liked it. That's my second favorite from Schlafly. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

A description from BeerAdvocate that I think is pretty accurate: - Quote :
- Out of a bottle this beer was a hazy, copper/bronze color with a good amount of rising carbonation and a tan head. The retention was good and the lacing in bands all the way down my glass. The aroma was of cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel malt and some light citrus notes. The flavors were very enjoyable to me. I tasted all the aforementioned spices built atop a solid caramel malt backbone with only light hopping which gave it a nice finish. Balanced and not overly spiced as many holiday ales tend to be. Additionally, there was almost no sign that the beer was 8% ALC and I didn’t realize it until after I’d enjoyed a few! The mouthfeel was good, the body surprisingly light and the carbonation appropriate.

| Tonight's brew: O'fallon Brewery's BDS. A Belgian Dark Ale aged in port barrels. Weighs in at 10% ABV. I've been cellaring this bottle for about 6 months so I'm curious to see if it's changed at all.
